I'd love to play an rpg in which the good playthrough is the hard mode and the evil playthrough is the easy mode, for an actual change. You don't deserve a pat for being a goody two shoes if it grants you all the extra XP and loot.

If you go for The Amulet of True Betrayal? That playthrough will be brutal, actually.

Shin Megami Tensei. What qualifies as Evil is rather blurry there, but in the context of that game it means picking either Law or Chaos. Chaos has more damage oriented equipment though and siding with it skips a few anoying bosses, so i'd go with it for evil playthorough Besides, they're into the whole satanic imagery and edgyness like suicide squads.

Excluding one boss that would be Undertale.

I haven't played it since 2016, but I'm pretty sure the game isn't harder if you go true pacifist. The easiest way to play would probably be a neutral playthrough if one compares all the effective final bosses (genocide is clearly the hardest, I hear that you CAN die in neutral against the very last boss however you can also skip after the first time, and you get unlimited tries in true pacifist I am 99% sure) plus the normal encounters (genocide and neutral is just killing everyone while pacifist requires you to survive everyone). Even ignoring all of that, I would not be surprised if the game was primarily balanced around having 20 health, so it's not like you're at supreme disadvantage for staying lv 1.

Same, man.
I guess I could say Tyranny, because the Rebel route makes things harder for you in many places, but... not by much in the end, and frankly it's not a great game, in large part because it seems afraid to commit to its own premise.

Mount and Blade (any)
Late game Bannerlord fucking sucks and has no content no matter what you do to get there but the general sentiment is true.

Undertale unironically.

It's harder in the sense that you have to think about what you're doing where as if you kill people you just kill people.

Well, that'd apply for Normal maybe, but that's not really the "evil playthrough". And Genocide might be 'easier' in terms of being mindless, but it's tedious by design, and considering the usual "reward" of Undertale is simply seeing character interactions, it still means the good path gets the extra figurative loot.
Unless you hate all the characters I guess, then you get the greatest reward of all by killing them.

well the fact that it also doesn't have an actual conclusion so much as it just careens to a screeching halt out of nowhere doesn't help either

people keep whining about evil not being rewarded but there's never any examples where that isn't blatantly wrong
