I've been playing this game for about 5 hours now and it is SO GODDAMN BORING. I don't have anything against slow burn story telling but this is the worst kind of fetch quest busy work bullshit making me run around the same town and the same three fields doing stuff liking finding cat food or killing the same tired mobs for drops to cash in. It's annoying, stupid and I hate it. And I made a thread to say I hate it.

Have you played an Atelier game before? They're really more of a Life SIM, than an RPG.

not true in the slightest for ps2 atelier. Those were just standard jrpgs, crafting was not the focus. That said, I haven't got around to playing iris 3 yet. Life sims are also not known for having any sort of jrpg like combat at all.

Iris 2 was a much more forward RPG

Life Sims place time limits on objectives. In the case of AI3, that limit is in the dungeons where you farm materials.

iirc, you'll have to make use of some skills that steal or convert weak monsters into item.
But the challenge isn't time management, like other atelier games.

Maybe play Mana Khemia. Iris 3 is like its prototype.
The time limited dungeon can be frustrating at times but once you get the spots where time extenders are placed, it will not matter much anymore unless you're stringing alot of quest in one place.
Probably has the hardest bonus boss in the PS2 gust games though. A super Puni that can replicate itself with 100% of its stats guarantees your death.

I don't really mind the time limit on the dungeons so much as just the overall tediousness of the quests.

Iris 2 > 1 > 3

3 has a banger of an opening theme and a fun combat system but like others stated it very much feels like a prototype for later games to come. 2 and 1 are more straightforward Jrpgs. Iris 1 has the most likeable shop keeps youll ever meet in a game.

it's a slop game, revisit FF9 instead of wasting your time with this
