You can not like it all you want, but Action-RPGs are well established sub genre. What I've seen of Kingdom Hearts looked painfully lame but that doesn't make it not an RPG.

Lunar 2 has the best post game content because it doesn't over shadow the main story but gives you a good reason to revisit earlier places, pick up old party members and do some bonus stuff which gives a satisfying epilogue to things.

FFX has the best post game out of any rpg

With an RPG, I can play a musical master with perfect pitch and rhythm, even if I'm the most tone deaf player. I can play a genius if I'm a drooling retard. I can play a swordmaster when I have noodle arms and the reflexes of a geriatric.
RPGs are conceptually different than most video games because they are games that predate vidya and exist within the mind.
