My favorite RPG is Skyrim. What games should I try to cure this.
I want to be a wizard exploring big dungeons, traversing large lands, and casting tons of creative spells.
>inb4 Skyrim isn't an RPG.
I don't care. Tell me your favorites.

I'm in a similar situation anon, and there is no cure. no other game hits like skyrim does. go back and replay the other bethesda games, that's probably the best you can get.

Yeah, I don't care that people say Skyrim isn't an RPG.
Maybe I should have clarified that I'm looking for games that lead people to saying that skyrim isn't an RPG. Likely ones with a lot of fun number crunching and character building.
A cure to Skyrim being my favorite RPG.

I used to have Elder Scrolls games, MMORPGs and a few JRPGs as pretty much my only RPG experience. The first crpgs I tried were Dragon Age Origins then Divinity Original Sin 2. I enjoyed both.

But I already hated the lack of roleplaying feedback the games I played offered so if you like Skyrim there's no reason that'll change.

I guess in Icewind Dale you can be a wizard exploring big dungeons, traversing large lands and casting tons of creative spells. But the dialogues were less interesting imo.

The first gulp from the glass of RPGs will turn you into a contrarian, but at the bottom of the glass Todd is waiting for you.

Already played Oblivion (and morrowind for that matter)
I tried starting a new Oblivion playthrough a week ago, but pretty soon, I just couldn't get myself to keep going.

It needs to be said: Tainted Grail is better than Skyrim in nearly every way, except modding I suppose.

Good news is apparently they're working on modding tools. (And still working on the game for that matter too.) It will obviously never live up to Skyrim's modding scene, but hopefully it enables people to make some good stuff.

If you have to ask this you are not a fan of rpgs.

P.S Skyrim is not an rpg.

nice, what an utterly unhelpful comment.
maybe I am a fan of RPGs, and I haven't played the right one to make me hate Skyrim yet.
Maybe I should make a thread asking so-called "true RPG fans" what an actual RPG is if Skyrim somehow isn't one.

and yeah, I guess I am a zoomer. I'm 26. been playing Skyrim since I was 14, and loving it since then.

Dismissive contrarian retardation solidifies his preferences. You had the option to recommend better or similar RPG’s and you can’t, therefore he will keep playing Skyrim forever and you will continue to seethe about how “real” RPG’s haven’t been invented yet. I bet you don’t even actually play RPG’s seeing how you can’t recommend a single one.

You should try out the Pathfinder games, has an insane amount of build autism especially when it comes to casters.

Personally, I think those sorts of people watch Critical Roll, and watch youtube plot recaps on old CRPGs just to feel like they're better than someone who likes the actual gameplay to be more than "click attack, and enjoy knowing about the basic single digit math that goes into my character dealing two damage"

Owlcat's Pathfinder games are great. Morrowind is great for being creative with magic. Also, Pillars of Eternity 2 is great. There are other options like Arx Fatalis or older BG games too. However, maps are more limited.

>"click attack, and enjoy knowing about the basic single digit math that goes into my character dealing two damage"
This is not fundamentally different from Skyrim, or any game that calculates damage. If you are crying that much, just try physics-based games like mount and blade or exanima.

Don't bother. There's good RPGs out there for you to discover, but if you take the hyperbolic autismos here seriously, you're going to be disappointed.

It's one of the worst "rpgs" because V is too defined, choices in dialogues rarely matter and are Fallout 4 tier except with fewer options most of the time, the skill trees are all shit and horribly designed.

You notice how you didn't recommend a single game? This is why most people don't play other rpgs. Whenever normie gamers ask retards like yourself for better games, you post a pseudo-intellectual response and yet fail to recommend """good""" alternatives

I'm playing this for the first time, it's the greatest RPG ever.
>be me, average Nord
>enjoying a walk through my ancestral homeland
>suddenly see some black on the highway
>day ruined
>he walks up to me and makes an unsolicited comment about how he has lived in Skyrim for 20 years and this is his home just as much as anyone's
>recognize obvious fighting words and immediately draw my blade
>he dies in one hit, can't even offer the glory of a proper battle
