The games aren't just narratively separated, but extremely mechanically distinct too. If you love an FF game for its mechanics chances are the next one and/or previous one will be just different enough for you to feel differently.

I get that in 2015 people called it "skippable" because they didn't grow up with it like 4 or 6, but that time has passed now. People like V, people even appreciate V's story. It's okay man, I assumed you were the other guy because you type similar. That guy unironically wanted more FFV, even at the cost of being total slop. FFV is elegant in its pacing and has so much personality packed into it that pumping it full of FF7Remake style padding and "character moments"(not bad on principle, but can be unnecessary when spammed and do affect pacing and gameplay).

Also, Ex-Death is the best FF villain of the games I've played (all but III, XI, XIV, and XVI. I've the spinoffs for the mainline games aside from XIII-2 and LR).
