Is Valheim worth it in 2025?

If you got friends, then yeah. A bit content-starved towards the end, but the actual gameplay is pretty comfy. Combat is jank however, which I am fine with.
But you gotta be the sort of person who appreciates the mundane and enjoys slow progression.
If solo, no. Don't bother.

You could, but you're always playing a lesser version if you're solo. Even in something like Dune Awakening which has a fleshed out solo "singleplayer" mode with story and shit, for example.

there's a few aspects i like and a few aspects i fucking despise. vintage story is a much better game overall imo if you like the survival aspect specifically. if you're really into the RPG aspects then not many games do it like valheim.

Icarus does it better

don't listen to people saying you need friends anon, these types of games are fine solo. i fucking hate playing them with friends. if you want coop slop just play a quick party game not a long burn survival/creative game where people will get butthurt if you progress too fast/too slow etc

its a great game and u can mod out the irritating grindy bits if u want , or just have a drone army. good replayability , i have done 2 full modded runs and felt good both times ,its the type of game where u dnt feel bad spending money on it after some time

I played it solo and I really loved it. It was my favourite game for a while. Loved running around and hunting, building is cool, too. It's well-made all around so it's enjoyable to play. I only modded the wind so it always blows behind me while sailing because this was really pissing me off.

This, I didn't even finish it technically but I was satisfied with what I played and my base.
