Pros
>One of the best turn-based combat systems to date
>Controlled RNG that cuts out bullshit while providing unpredictability in positive ways
>Characters are all very varied in terms of how they play
>Create your own protag, with lots of ways to customize and play unique to the protag
>Story is solid enough for what it is, but the meat of the game is the combat
>Have a Hub you can explore, upgrade, do quests in, etc. that you return to after missions
>Some pretty fun missions
Cons
>The optional hangout moments can be pretty cringe depending on the characters, especially the younger ones
>Some characters are a bit annoying, especially the younger ones
>Doing too much in th Hub section like talking to people can start to drag if you do it all in one go, spread it out more between missions
N/A
>The card aspect might not appeal to everyone (I generally don't like card systems) but doesn't get in the way or get annoying
>I recommend getting the complete version with the character DLCs, since they add pretty good story content and more nice characters to use, plus allowing you to replace the default look of any character you don't like. Best to pick up on a sale.
>If you build your characters well, do side stuff a lot, upgrade your Hub the game eventually becomes a bit on the easier side, but otherwise has a pretty good level of challenge

I keep meaning to try it, but everything I've seen of the MC makes me feel like it might be a situation where you're stuck playing the lamest member of the team, and I don't really vibe with that.

Not really.
The protag is gameplay wise really varied in how you can play them with tons of different skills (neutral, light and dark aligned which open up if you go towards any one route through dialogue and gameplay). Lore wise they're really powerful and has connection to demons, witches and ancient orders. Character wise they're a bit like Thor with the fish out of water thing where things were way more wild back in their time, which you can lean into during dialogue if you want.
MC becomes more interesting as the story goes along.

They have the meaning which is ascribed to them by society (in the large scale) or the group (in the small scale). Just like when I write "you're being a faggot", I do not actually mean to imply that you are attracted to other men, I simply mean to say that you're annoying and/or stupid, and everyone here will understand that, and thus the word serves an understood purpose all the same.

>Thoughts on
It was a product without an actual market segment.
Capefags want "WHAM!", "SMASH!", press-A-for-awesome, rock'em, sock'em action combat, not turn-based tactics.
XCOMards tend not to care about capeslop.
Social linkiddies want weebshit, 'cause that's what they've been conditioned to associate that with.
Card combat enjoyers prefer a more classic fantasy setting.

Okay is just a neutral term. It can be negative or positive, but usually in a diplomatic comparative way, if you either don't believe something is as bad as another person claims ("I thought it was okay"), or as great as they believe ("it's okay I guess")
Mid just means 'shit', really. It's kind of like how 'mediocre' has often been used disparagingly, since it's not about something being average, it's about it NOT being good. But you know, more so with 'mid'.

i'm so tired of people on this website larping that this poorly translated, meandering slop is any good. it's a jumbled mess of spaghetti code and wonky engrish and way too many plot threads that go absolutely nowhere. fuck this shit ass game and fuck me for wasting over 100 hours of my life on it

I actually did that as a troll, to see whether I manage to rile up somebody by *not* insulting a particular audience segment.
The only "card combat game" (if it can be called that) I've ever played at length was Duelyst.

Reminds me of KH: Chain of Memories, which was a game most KH fans hated since it is def a series that attracts ARPG-fans (which tends to hate card games)

I like the game a lot but I agree 100% about the story
Meandering bullshit with 100 factions and 200 characters with NPC look but different names that we're supposed to remember
I don't know why is it so hard to make a simple story about underdog independent cops raising through the ranks. Maybe it's just the korean style of storytelling.

this is actually genuinely it. anyone who has played through library of ruina or limbus company will tell you it has a ton of seemingly meaningless character development that actually becomes something huge later on. the problem with troubleshooters is there's no payoff, it's just layers upon layers of meaningless slop you have to dig through to find the actually relevant story beats. like i said i played the game 100+ hours and i still couldnt tell you what the fuck spoonism is even about, what the first spoon is, nothing

Judging from how kids use mid, I don't think this is right. It's more that mid is okay, but no one wants anything to be "okay" any more, they want it to be great or shit, so something being mid is seen as an insult.

It had some potential but they fucked it up.
>dating/"hangout" aspects are boring, badly written, and in some cases just bizarre (not in a good way)
>overall character writing is hit and miss, some of it is pretty good but a lot of it is cringe or just plain bland as fuck
>the main plot is lame and predictable
>exploration aspects are tedious and add nothing of value
>card-based combat is a bit of a gimmick, it could've been good but there's not enough card variety to make it interesting
>level design is godawful boring, there are only a handful of decent level designs and they're all in optional challenge missions, 99% of the game takes place in areas like empty parking lots

>i played the game 100+ hours and i still couldnt tell you what the fuck spoonism is even about, what the first spoon is, nothing
What you're saying isn't an indictment of the game, but a confession that you're a complete moron.

>what the fuck spoonism is even about
It's a religion that primarily focuses on elminiating poverty by sharing what you have with people in need, which got popular because of the absolute shitshow the (((government))) turned Windwall into (and is possibly created by the government on purpose in order to get rid of undesirables, but that's a different matter). The spoon is a symbol of this sharing, i.e. sharing a spoonful of food from your own bowl.
>what the first spoon is
Simply put, it's the leader of the Spoonists who is prophesized to gather all the Spoonists together. Who the First Spoon is and what his exact role is changes at least twice so I guess some confusion is understandable if you're not paying any attention to the story, but the general point is that it's not a specific person but rather an abstract identity that can be take up by anyone who fits the description.

sorry i like games that respect my time and don't waste it with meaningless garbage that you have to sift through to find out what's actually going on. maybe if you were to seek employment you'd gain a better appreciation for how valuable your time really is and not waste it clicking through barely comprehensible chinkbabble.
