Would you say that only the mainline Persona games are canon? I know some of the spinoffs have storylines and all that, but I don't think any of them are true sequels.

I've never really understood the nerd obsession with canon. I think I've never fanboyed over a series that hard.

DAN and Arena Ultimax are canon continuations of the stories. PQ1 is canon too, but might as well not be. I don't know anything about P5 beyond the first version or it's spinoffs because I thought it was bad.

Yeah, it basically doesn't fucking matter. Especially not with Persona, the only time it mattered in the series was going from Persona 1 to 2 duology, the connection between P3, 4, and 5 literally does not matter and adds nothing.

all the games are canon except ffor the ones that got replaced (P4 is no longer canon because of P4G, P5 is no longer canon because of P5R). All versions of Persona 3 are canon (you have to play all of them)

it's especially meaningless in persona because they just do really inane micro-callbacks to other games in the series as fanservice, if there's anything mechanical or stylistic they're sick of they drop it and do something else without regard for previous crap
