I'm starting my dungeon crawler off with a 3 level cave. It's a fine enough dungeon, but I worry it'll bore people and they'll lose interest immediately. Maybe I should have some crazier dungeon right away.
>>3806458 (OP) You mean a dungeon? The backbone of RPG exploration? Going all the way back to original D&D? And classic literature like Dante's Inferno? And even all the way back in mythology where Orpheus had to travel through Hades and back?

>>3806630 >a dungeon doesn't have pace shows your ignorance the level design, encounter design, possible puzzle design... that all affects pacing, determining not just how much time you spend going through the dungeon but whether it goes smoothly or feels way longer than it is due to tedium and delays
>>3806458 (OP) I never liked dungeons. As a kid when I played morrowind and oblivion I never did them not realizing how important they were and I always was undergeared, heh.
