How do you feel about beast races in RPGs

Humans are just better, more relatable, more understandable, and there's nothing subjective about the fact that non-humans just suck. Human characters can accomplish all that you need or want to achieve with a character concept better, and if you don't like making humans, then you're wrong.

All fantasy races are expressions of the human condition, because they are not real, and are conceived by humans. Playing as an elf or an orc or a furblewurgle is fundamentally the same as playing a human with a different background. "Human-only is more relatable" is baseless nonsense peddled by neckbeards who think elves are real and they must wage an eternal imageboard war against them for some reason.

This is a board about video games. Fantasy races can have gameplay abilities that differ from humans. Using OP as an example, a feline race can have better vision at night.

I think it's boring if it's just too specific of an animal. Like your picture, most of them are just cats. It's nothing more than a cat. You couldn't copyright them because it's just a cat.
The Avatar ones stand out. Inspired by cat but they're more than just cats. The ears are weird and alien, not just "cat ears". Same with the nose. The blue skin also differentiates. I haven't watched the movies though.

I like it a lot when it presents a different gameplay experience instead of just being a cosmetic option
