Tainted Grail: Fall of Avalon
Has anyone played this? Worth getting?
Anonymous No.3810197 [Report] >>3813195
Its Polish, yes

Act 3 needs filling out, but they actually are filling it out. Act 2's been cleaned up a bit. Act 1 is a labor of love and makes you love the game and the creators.

its not finished, needs another year in the oven

I can't speak for much in the later game, but >>3810202 seems to be the msot popular opinion.

About 30 hours in;
>Combat
Fun, weighty, sometimes a little bit clunky if you're melee only but it's offset by how satisfying the kills are; cleaving through enemies with a big sword feels great.
>Story
Story and setting are both very cool. Lots of weird sinister spooky shit, to such a degree that some normalfag characters can almost feel out of place.

The world feels both very alien/strange but also very familiar. It's cool.
>Other stuff
Shit-tonne of other mechanics and stuff to do. Fishing, sketching cool vistas, digging up treasure, cooking, hunting, all sorts. The map is dense and full of cool things. Absolutely none of it feels like filler.

I would say it's definitely worth getting. Just take your time with it.

Did they change how the light - heavy armor system works?
Having it tied to the actual weight than the armor class without any benefit for staying in heavier weights didn't sit well with me when I played a pirated copy.

Started another playthrough the other day, went for a dual wielding melee build, before this I went with full magic build.
Game is okay, especially for it's price. Kind of buggy in some areas, and as others mentioned Act 3 felt empty and kind of unfinished. Still I had fun with it.

I find that difficult to believe.

it was a chore to finish

should I buy it yet, or keep waiting for it to be more polished?

The UI is so offputting and generic. Consoles truly ruins everything...well that's what I would say, if I didn't know it was polish slop

I've been enjoying it. There are a lot of nice looking armor sets and weapons to find and choose from with good effects. Combat isn't spectacular, but it's decent, and the story seems cool so far too. Haven't gotten too far through Act 2 yet, but I do hear >>3810202 repeated a lot. I really like it and don't regret paying full price for it, but it's not a bad idea to keep an eye on it and see what happens either.

>>3810731
They nerfed armor weight reduction, but the overall system is still in place.

how does it directly compare to Skyrim's combat?
I'm sure it's better but Im curious in what particular ways it's better

is this game more TES sandbox, or Witcher theme park?

nobody is going to tell me whether or not it's time to buy it yet

I just wanna know if I should keep waiting on patches, or if it's in a decent spot

There's a dash you can you for dodging and gaining distance.
There's also parrying. And no it's not a "parry game", you don't have interact with the system if you don't want to, guarding normally works just fine.
Magic is great. Takes some time to gather the best spells but when it does it's pretty satisfying to use. Also give you summoning spells that you can eventually customize (how many creatures you can summon, the more creature you summon you get more mp regen, etc)
Early game enemies can be vicious and if you're not paying attention bandits with two handed sword can btfo you easily.
The "shout" in this game is kinda ass though, just a slow down time. I think almost everyone agree it's kinda useless.

I want an Arthurian game played straight. I want regular fantasy, not grimderp dark fantasy. I'm tired of subverted expectations.

It's good, Act 1 is very content-heavy and polished while 2 and 3 get progressively weaker, atleast when I played it back on launch

no, it's the final damage numbers that are the same lightness as the fucking background
these pollacks are borderline unqualified, the game is extremely mid (at best) and only praised by /pol/tarded /v/ermin because there are no blacks in the game

Anon, it's time to admit that you do not recognize colors. I understand that you are hurt that some games do not accommodate your handicap but it's not healthy to rage about it for a month.

I was scrolling down and genuinely had no idea what you were talking about because I figured you had an actual point about the modifiers overspilling or something but it turns out you're just a blind faggot.
>>3810194 (OP)
The game overall feels very Unity, weird assets, weird unfinished feel, buildings just jutting out of the ground very weirdly but gameplay is solid and it certainly has an idea for itself which is more than your average action RPG these days.

I usually assume people that gratuitously complain about UI are full of shit, but no that's a pretty awful looking UI

meanwhile TES gave them something that they could have easily copied

even vanilla skyrim UI or SkyUI would be a pretty huge improvment visually

It looks ugly and has the style of a Chinese AI generated dark souls knock off so I don't really care enough to look into it.

oh I know the guy I replied to made all those posts

I mean more in the sense that people are very quick to complain about UI when it's really not that bad
>uuuggh Elden Ring's UI looks terrible!!!
but the UI in those screenshots looks like it genuinely lowers the quality of your experience while in a menu

BG3 doesn't have a perfect UI by any means, but it's another good example of something better than basic minimalist slop UI
