>>2098692Why is it that the same board that
overwhelmingly complains about their favorite
games being dumbed down for common
audiences also throws a fucking temper
tantrum anytime a game isn't tailor made to
specifically cater to them and their interests?
This could be gleaned just by reading their
reviews, but if their play time of 8 and 15 hours
doesn't make it glaringly obvious, these people
are just flat out bad at the game and do not
understand it. Yes the game is intentionally
abstract in a lot of areas, but it more than gives
you enough measures by which to correct
whatever course you are taking toward a better
route. I'll just take some of these points though
to show that they are in fact user error.
>Review 1, Paragraph 2, bitching about foodambiguity
If you simply save your game and spend five
minutes fucking around with the sliders in the
farming screen, you will quickly have a good
idea of what you need more of and the way to
get more of all of them is straightforward. More
cows? Heroquest. Raid. Cow magic. Need
more land? Raid for land, dummy. Need more
anything else? Trade, dummy. Need to get rid
of it? Trade, dummy.
I can't deny that resources needs can be
abstract, but the basic trial and error needed to
feel them out isn't fucking rocket science.
>absolute worst thing is that the game actively punishes you for being successfulEasily the silliest complaint. You are in control
of how good you are doing, stop doing good.
That seems like bait but it unironically isn't. If
you have too many people, fail a raid. Or just
deal with the consequences of being
successful, because once you are past a
certain threshold, you can avoid clan splitting
by giving out a fraction of your quintillion crafts
being produced each year.
