I rarely pick an admin idea first though because I'm always so thirsty for admin points, but it's a smart early investment if you can plan around it.

Espionage is a strong start if you begin anywhere AE matters. Innovative is strong if embracing institutions and tech might be a problem financially or pointswise and flows into the siege bonus policy on offensive. Admin can be awkward because to take full advantage of it you really ought not conquer until you get the CCR since points are really at a premium before you jump ahead of time on techs. If you're somewhere with shit provinces you don't get as much out of admin that early. Same with in the empire despite the provinces being higher development because AE really limits how quickly/much you can conquer.
Infrastructure is basically a must if you start as a dwarf remnant.
If you're playing a republic with plutocratic, espionage/pluto is very strong. You get a diplomat, ae reduction, siege and spy network bonuses, morale, rep tradition, and a policy for 20% manpower when they're all done.
And then merc ideas are actually not a meme depending on who you are.

Varamhar is a fun magic nation since your MT focuses on making your ruler immortal, if you succeed it's literally impossible for your ruler to get killed, you can't even kill him with console commands, you can lead troops into battle forever safely (it doesn't have to be the starting ruler, if you don't like him just do rite of conception with the mages)
Elikhand is fun if you give your starting ruler a nice funeral when he dies as he comes back later as an immortal benevolent mummy, he is a powerful mage too
Germadcurt, Esthil to Black Demesne, Aelnar, and Chaingrasper can all get lich rulers easy and their mission trees also focus on magic

Played Covenblad. Advice for making adventurer tags a bit easier? I like playing in the region but I find myself struggling to actually snowball enough to stand on my own once everyone consolidates their holdings early on, I'll be too busy managing rebels or gold shortages and what not. Surely there's some ideas that help a lot with this? Lately I've been doing raven banner and sword covenant runs in the region.

Everything else is situational or crap like the monopoly privilage unless there's unique estate like the patrician in Escann, eunuch in Yanshen, and Rahen which have a completely different estate system.

Anybody know what the hell is up with this Shattered Crown?
I shit you not, they had a Personal Union over fucking LORENT. LORENT. They had one over Grombar, then somehow got another over LORENT. They own basically all of the serpenstpine and i've had to fight like 10 Deathwars with them already.

Hello anons.
I'm on day 3 of restarting a Feiten Campaign where I'm trying to play them quasi-optimally, getting into intense autism. Most mission trees I like the tree is hidden because it's new goals to accomplish, but the Feiten tree has hidden goals that get revealed after you complete a stage. Very annoying.
I'm also absolutely certain nobody has played an ironman run of this tag: You'd be stalled for 80 years multiple times when the mission tree and unique monument jumpscare you with "get 33 inno in yanshen + explo first idea set" and "btw you shouldn't have annexed more than 24 provinces"
Anyways, questions. I'm playing with the more ideas group mod that adds neat stuff like Logistics/Trade Management ideas that make my brain wrinke, if this is relevant to you.
Around about 1530-1550 you run into a brick wall as this nation. Haless is full of 80k men in the field + 150K manpower nations, and because you're playing a skyscraper tall nation you're extremely over forcelimit all the time. Vassals in the area are relatively useless unless you can get, like, Bianfang or the northernmost Yan nation as a vassal somehow.
Speaking of vassals, it seems like you're meant to go vassal centric here due to the low province limit so you can build semi-optimally in vassal lands. This leads to a dual problem: my vassals usually can muster like, 30k men tops before I start running into loyalty due to dev limits, and I can't fit influence+espionage+exploration before, like, 1650. Advice?
Do your artificers being space marines make up for your extremely limited manpower reserves? Advice for taking on someone like united Lake Federation or whatever behemoth wins the South Halessi thunderdome?
Your unique mechanic encourages taking high-dev inland centers of trade - but I'm at a loss as to how to actually take those provinces for myself due to coring restrictions. Good examples are Bianfang or Jianglusi's capital. Any work-arounds?

Is going Suhan's Praxis specifically for +10% infantry combat worth it as Feiten? I don't think it would cause me to lose access to Silk Turban or Starry Eye but I honestly don't know, haven't interacted too deeply with Suhan.
On run 3 I discovered that getting rid of your tolerance of eastern group religions estate privilege is extremely worth it when you factor in Development of Temples and Religious Culture's impact on skyscraper tags.

It's not that I don't think I can beat them, I just don't want to have to occupy literally all of Cannor. That would take way too damn long. I don't have that much time.

This game really has become the default EU4 experience for me. I keep going to post other modded campaigns here forgetting that this is just Anbennar, not EU4 in general.
Am i the only one who thinks it's easy how insanely easy Edhardrachon Uprising is? I didn't even get to do the whole mission tree because my armies just bulldozed their shitty Revolt and took all their land in less than a year.
With all the damn effort it has, it's weird. I mean, there's a whole alternate mission tree. I expected an Great Insubordination tier crash out.
Or maybe I just took too damn long to form Castanor and was already too OP thanks to my Undead Army.
The only really "Challenging" midgame disasters in the game rn are the serpentspine ones - player power can vary so dramatically in 1530 depending on speed of scaling in first 30 years of the game. Some people will have conquered half of Escann, some people will just be getting their nation online after multiple periods of 0 manpower downtime.
Why does the Gold Dwarf MT end when you have conquered a tiny fraction of the serpent spine?
