Do not really bother a game lasts way too long and unless you are a total tryhard with a ton of time to waste you will get bored or just run out of time before anything really gets done.

To this day it's my favorite Star Wars game. I love the emerging stories you get as you play.

I still rememeber the one time I sent Luke and Chewbacca to abduct an Imperial agent but they botched it and ended up killing the guy instead. It was one of their researchers so the kill was even better for me. Or the one time Leia got abducted but she managed to escape on her own. Or the entire operation I ran to take over an imperial sector using diplomats, Han/Chew as saboteurs and then a huge fleet of starfighters as liberators

The UI is terrible but there's a great game underneath. Never cared about multiplayer though

It's prime realestate for a modern remake but all we get is paradox slop on that front.

it was cool, i played it as a kid a bit and replayed it around 2010 until winning a campaign, really good for the time.

stelaris kind of remade it, was surprised first time i saw it it literally looked like a modern remake of rebellion

It's kinda sad. I want the grand strategy layer of Rebellion and the space battles of Empire at War. I don't think a remaster is coming because of the licensing shenanigans nowadays.
