Do you prefer Civilization 4, 5, or 6?

civ 3 was my first, and will always be my "favorite", but I play civ 5 the most. Great game, and better mod support. 7 deserves to get raped to death

i prefer 5 with mods, but i've played 1, 3, 4, 5, 6.
i only like 4 for civ4col and with mods.

The only one I still play regularly is original sim colonization. 4 with mods is alright. Can't stand either 5 or 6, and no, hexes and 1upt are the least of their problems.

I also prefer the way warfare works too much in 5 to go back to earlier titles.

4 has the best AI, or at least it can navigate the map whilst cheating resources, whilst in 5 and 6 it can't, whilst cheating resources.
I don't like how tacked on espionage is in 4.

Nuclear bunkers are usually quick to tech and on-the-way to the techs you want as a pacifist.

I really don't like the AI in civ V
Playing on the higher difficulties you really can't build wonders or get a religion(unless you have a really good start) due to the large bonuses the AI gets and so just have to focus on building up a military to achieve anything and since the combat in Civ V sucks its very Boring.

5 and BERT. I wish Firaxis didn't abandon Beyond Earth. The game had potential. I play it with lots of mods.

Civ 4 for the single greatest mod for any video game ever created. Just finished a game with the Illians, terraforming the map to snow and becoming a god was cash.

For me, 4 > 5 > 6.

4 has the best snowballing by far and lets you maintain your momentum when dominating. The other games try too hard to limit you. 5 is visually stunning but not as satisfying. 6 has a braindead lame duck AI that will never be a threat after the first 40 turns on deity.

I love 4 and can play it for hours, but when I play 5 or 6 I get bored within an hour but also engrossed with the loop, a terrible combination that makes the boredom worse like I'm playing a gacha or something. Something about the UI of the latter two is just awful

4 = war game

5 = tactical game

6 = sandbox game

They're all good for different reasons. 4 has the best AI of the three of them, 5 was absolutely the best tuned for if you want to be a tryhard, and 6 is the best for if you just want to chill and do whatever you want (including goofy comeback mechanics for weak players) and the only multiplayer netcode that doesn't make me want to die.

I've been messing with the Sapiens set of mods for 5. Unfortunately, that mod gives whoever builds the Manhattan Project first a free Atomic bomb, so I usually war them immediately to prevent them from building more.
4 i've played a bit of FoH2 and C2C, dunno why i put myself to playing the latter
Haven't found any major overhaul mod in 6 that would get me to playing again. At least the mods load in faster than in 5
