I'm mildly concerned about the fuckery they're doing in the new map, Taleworlds historically has sucked at mapping but they seem to be going all out to move shit around and change the shape of the seas to facilitate gameplay over anything. They could have just added more settlements instead of retconing where cities are AGAIN.
Also i maintain a big reason why Calradia feels weirdly empty and lifeless is just how everything you can visit is evenly spaced and divided into three categories instead of being more environment-sensitive. I don't like how there's either villages, castles or cities, there should be fortified towns that are bigger villages with some extra services and defensive walls, military camps formed by travelling armies setting up in a field mid-journey, merchants and camp followers settting up next to armies and towns, migrating tribes roaming the map, manors with smaller castles, small pasant cottages near castles, watchtowers, forts, monasteries, roadside inns, etc
>>2076646more than anything else though, Battanian hillforts. That's all.
>>2076646They will need to rewrite some of the lore for village and city descriptions.
Also, maybe move some of the resources around.
My biggest problem with the map is the mountains that are just everywhere. Good for catching bandits, but still.

How is Realm of Thrones? The Dragons look goofy as fuck but everything else seems pretty kino for a ASOIAF enjoyer like myself.
>>2076835I enjoyed it, playing as the nights watch was fun. The wall siege defence was great (once), but the map is all sorts of fucked because enemies trickle in from 2 ladders then make their way up a dozen more ladders, one at a time. I spent 3 hours on one siege as an archer only to get sieged again and lose, after that the whole war was impossible. Fun to fight a losing retreating war for once though.
The other factions are decent too, good armour and weaponry. I didn't do any dragon stuff though, but it's worth playing if you enjoy the setting.

>>2077308>but I bet they won't.when did the bannerlord go so wrong?

>>2077130>>2077170Finally tracked his ass down, but now when I try to propose marriage he wants me to marry Merag instead of Corein
I've definitely finished "courting" Corein until she suggested I talk to Caladog, she's still marriageable age (28, I wasted time annihilating Vlandia and forgot to get married), and she isn't married already
What gives?
>>2077539Finally figured it out. Corein got captured in a war, which ended a few days before I finally caught up to Caladog. Corein hadn't "respawned" in town yet after being freed from captivity, so I couldn't marry her, I followed Caladog for a couple days and the option appeared
>>2077332Yeah but like a pure hellenic map, particularly a pelopenisian war setting, since war sails and Shokuho figured out naval battles then that would be good too.
A Mount and Blade: Troy mod would be insanely cool as well.
>>2077023Warband felt alive in spite of that limitation and not thanks to it, and every mod that could add more, did.
Viking Conquest remains to this day, the blueprint of how immersive and believable a Mount and Blade world can be made because it didn't try to have these fucking annoying strict limitations on world design and just let encounters and things to do become locations instead of shoehorning the things to do into locations from a list. What results in Bannerlord is that NOTHING FUCKING HAPPENS, everything is a few menus away and locked behind a notable, and boy "notables" are the most souless thing there is.
Back in Warband we had village elders, guild masters and THEN lords and that implied a certain level of sub-noble hierarchy and organization, but in Bannerlord no one else has titles or roles, they're just "notable" and have troops and quests and sometimes relationships going on with other notables but nothing that truly puts them in the world, they even dress the same. This is actually my biggest gripe with the game, notables fucking suck.
>>2077609>they're just "notable"That's fine, don't need a million different made up titles for fake ingame cultures to say the same thing - noble or a minor noble.
>>2077618except you do because you don't have tiers of importance other than accumulated wealth and influence of a clan which means nothing should subjugate them to nobles or prevent them from becoming nobles and the premise of the games' society gets eroded. Notables need to be a notable [something], a merchant, a landholder, a council member, a magistrate, a priest, a druid, anything, so long as it informs the kind of dynamics they're gonna have in society and even more importantly, the kind of quests and relations they're gonna have. It's called roleplaying.
>>2077622Warband was never good for this either, it's just your nostalgia.
Meanwhile Bannerlord, for me at least, has more interesting visual, early medieval and better looking, smoother combat, so it was a clear upgrade.
>>2077623Warband had Village Elders and Guild Masters which had all the quests in their respective locations and whose quests were all surrounding the well being and interests of said place so it made sense. Notables in Bannerlord can be at best self interested or just actual criminal scum and you never get a sense of who represents the interests of the people of a town.
IMO this would be fixed real fucking easy if we just had more fixed location-specific NPCs that aren't notables, like a magistrate, a guild master, town mayor, captain of the militia, etc, and then maybe you could even have in-settlement dynamics between the notables and the actual town with quests and shit like unrest and riots breaking out. Anything to liven up the place.
>>2076946Yes. It has some issues but is generally much closer to what the base game should be.
>>2077622>merchant, a landholder, a council member, a magistrate, a priest, a druid, anythingthere are merchant, artisan and gang notables off the top of my head in towns.
>>2077625>Notables in Bannerlord can be at best self interested they push the interest of their class. like that artisans vs merchants where to sell quest.
this isn't what bannerlord is missing since warband didn't have it either.
hell, warband had generic guild master instead of showing internal divide between artisans and merchants.
anyway, adding what you're talking about won't make bannerlord feel alive.
warband still felt alive even if you had a mod that allows you to meet the guild master and village elders from the menu.
bannerlord removed interactions with lords like in warband and lacks interactions with the notables they added.
and the economy is based around loot so being a lord means jackshit.
and the game is designed to push the player into massive battles all the time.
>>2076392 (OP)Why are they called Rhodoks lorewise? Is it their ethnic group?

seriously why isnโt there a Rot3K mod
donโt chinks have their own modding scene?
>>2079299This unironically keeps me up at night. Not only is it a cultural touchstone for most of East Asia, it's also an internationally successful video game franchise. I get people would argue over WHEN exactly to set it? If it's only three kingdoms it'd be pretty one sided, but before that you might have trouble with certain factions steamrolling the map from such lopsided group sizes.
>>2079299>>2079313i'm pretty sure they made a standalone game about it using Warband's engine.
and i'm pretty sure chinese rioted because it was just a reskin without added mechanics or something then they apologized and promised to work on it further then we didn't get an update about it from that anon.

>>2079313The when seems pretty obvious to me, post Dong Zhou but pre emperor fleeing to Luoyang, that way you can have Cao cao, yuan shu, lu bu and liu bei in the central plains then yuan shao and gongsun zan in he bei, with liu zhang, liu biao and sun ce in their respective areas you could even throw in factions like Ma teng, the dong zhou remnants in chang an and some bandit factions like Yan Baihu or the black mountain bandits.
>>2079299There are quite a few Chinese-only ones, but of them there's like only one decent one, but even that is lardely only because it actually lets you be a loyal minister and restore Han.
There's also one for Bannerlord that got a closed demo this January, but that one ended up being a literal crowdfunding scam.
>>2079334That was HanโXiongnu Wars, no relation to Three Kingdoms. Actually fun enough to play and does have plenty of unique mechanics, it's just they ended up never adding a lot of what they were promising after release (and the attached manual stil does kek) because of both negative fan reception and from what I've heard from the Chinese side some kind of mess with the ways the earnings are divided between Taleworlds and the Chinese team.
>>2079345What does Primae Noctis do
>>2079355I agree that the setting you mentioned would be a great choice but there will be people that want three kingdoms proper as well as plenty of other highly specific time period kingdom standings (there's a huge amount of Cao Pi lovers for some fucking reason even though Cao Pi sucks.)
>>2079645can't they play fast and loose with the time and have whomever they want added? perhaps even everyone?
gekokujo was like this and no one cared.
>>2076407Dickplomacy was always shit, a shitty version of diplomacy on top of some sex animations that were from a meme Russian mod
>>2079645I think trying to catter to people that want the "proper" three kingdoms is a mistake they all have their favorites and it would be imposible to please them all, they also tend to want things to happen in game as they did in ROTK which leads to games being heavily railroaded

Dramalord is in the middle and basically just adds a framework for Incest, Adultery and Whelping bastards.

MORE OF THE MAP
Bannerlord was the most fun when the only content about it were 'waiting for bannerlord' memes.
>>2081494nah
I had more fun with Bannerlord than with Warband.
Played Bannerlord for the first time in over 2 years because of Shokuho and I really hate how much artifical bullshit the game has. Things like being unable to buy more than X workshops or have more than X companions because of the magical clan tier or the caravan escort quest spawning a group of raiders that will attack the caravan with no regard for the much more powerful party guarding it.
The removal of small things like being able to get an estimate of how much money a workshop will make when buying it, being able to ask lords for locations of others, having to actually return to the questgiver to get a reward.
>>2081555True Limits mod can help with that, I think.

https://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php?threads/graphical-setback-of-bannerlord.465973/
>>2076940Been playing it lately. I enjoy it. I was a huge With Fire and Sword fan though, so it feels oddly familiar in its own right. Instead of shot and pike combat it's more like shot and katana, especially if you start in the Sakai culture where firearms are more common. I guess you could emulate the shot and pike style combat with Yari/Naginata troops, but eh. Katana troops tend to perform better.
It's got some cool features like strikethrough. Basically you can hit multiple enemies with one sword/polearm strike (especially from the sides.) Leads to some pretty cool moments where you can strike down 6 enemy troops at once going fast as fuck on horseback. But at the end of the day, it's still Bannerlord. It's a very solid full-conversion though. Some of it is buggy (naval combat for instance), but the general gameplay is solid.
So what QoL/UI/Balance mods do I actually need for Bannerlord? I know I should play vanilla first, but I don't feel like playing vanilla for a few hours before restarting the playthrough so I can use mods.
>>2082006warbandlord is a must

>>2082012>dramalord for funLacks modularity/options.

rbm is too hardcore.

>>2082039Forgot to attach the picture because I'm retarded
>>2082006True Limits, True Battle Loot, True Noble Opinion and True Town Gold are a must have for me.
>>2081555>caravan escort quest spawning a group of raiders that will attack the caravanthis is the whole point of this quest imo. I take it when I have a bunch of low level troops I want to train but donโt feel like chasing down looter stacks
>>2082019Rbm has good combat changes and is great when paired with overhauls like De re militari if you want a more authentic early medieval feel, but it overnerfs ranged and fucks the economy to an extreme degree. Warbandlord kind of messes with the economy too but to a lesser degree.
Anyone been playing 457? I'm liking it more with each patch, the quest line in Denmark is really cool. Though I really hate the recruitment/troop system, since it basically eliminates levelling troops since they'll either have no upgrades or one
>>2082186The economy fuckery is why I just don't run with Rbm or warbandlord. The rebalancing is better but still not great and the economy fix mods I run, that actually make merchant playthroughs fun, crash the game with it. Just not worth the trade off for such a small difference.
>>2082334picture 546 fian champs
>>2081200I must confess, I only played it once or twice but the aesthetic has certainly left a mark on me.
And through me, others.
>>2082333What does Warbandlord change economy wise? It lists just combat changes
>>2082401The way the economy works is it bases price off of the base values of the item with modifiers for the prefixes. RBM fucks it because your basic leather shoe is worth 5 times a vanilla leather shoe because the armor value is inflated. True all affected gear costs 5-10x more, but non gear costs are unadjusted. So you end up fighting a few bandit groups and can outright buy a caravan or workshop.
Warbandlord tweaks things less, but values are still adjusted so prices still change.
In an extreme example there was a jagged spear you get from one of the aserai starts that sells for like 10k with warbandlord active probably because it's using unmodified values.
Also in shokuho warbandlord makes bows dirt cheap because of the value tweaks. I also had trouble with bows headshotting dudes with straw hats for like 2 damage.
>>2082407Okay, that makes sense. I wish Warbandlord did a better job explaining the sliders because I have a hard time making heads or tails of them
How come there's so many modders adding new armors and items to the game but nobody's tried fixing the obviously badly made vanilla game armors? most mail textures are low res, mismatched or just the wrong design. A lot of armors are baggy and hanging right past the waist and hips like big baggy pajamas. A lot of helmets are scuffed, filthy looking and not placed properly on top of the head.
>>2082407I noticed that that RBM shakes up the economy, but desu, I only used True Costs mod to adjust the recruitment costs, otherwise, I don't think it matters unless you care to play as a trader.

After modifying the method called "TickOccasionally()" inside the "TacticFrontalCavalryCharge" class, the AI now charge in the same way than the player, and I have not detected any issue in my current campaign.

Haven't touched Warband in half a decade, remind me, are mods for older versions compatible with the current one, or is there a need to get an old version? And if yes, what's the easiest way? I don't see Steam having old versions in the beta tab like it does with Paradox games.
>>2082635I think my wife Corein is quite beautiful.
>>2083264TW has seemingly abandoned the online play after their shitty captain mode wasn't a 9 gorillion shekel worldwide phenomena.
that feel. all bow education traits so far.
Returning to warband over the long break, I simply can't stomach ridiculously uneven 'mountains' maps.
What files can I edit to get rid of them? Googling the issue only brings me to useless advice of "not fight in the mountains".
I don't even use cavalry so it'll likely make my life harder.
what mods (warband/bannerlord) allow me to cosplay as griffith
>>2083830i've never bothered with versions. it just worksโข
>>2083874warband uses random generation. idk how to edit map parameters but you can at least get three scenes if you retreat and re-engage.
>>2082635if only bannerlord could lure in some of the skyrim autist modders that would be a huge first step, they have people from all over the spectrum and that would be still an massive improvement on what we have now
>>2084074Doesn't bannerlord has an issue of regularly breaking mods with random updates?
I thought this was the main reason for the dead modding scene.
>>2084109So does Skyrim, it was only after Anniversary came out that they stopped fucking with it as much. But they still do, for creation club purposes.
>>2084109Modding scene isn't dead though. And anyone who cares about mods just locks their game version.

Is it me or did they spend more time developing these sea travel mechanics than they did with the actual game? I swear TWI is the most autistic hyperfocused company ever. We should be thankful there were no trains in the medieval world.
>Sea Attrition, Seaworthiness & Storms
>Life at sea in War Sails wears down even the sturdiest hull. Ships take gradual damage when navigating the open sea and when under harsh weather conditions. This damage is influenced by weather strength, ship size, and a vesselโs innate seaworthiness โ a stat that helps reduce the toll the seas take.
>Previously mentioned wind effects are further intensified when sailing through storms. Storms are circular, dynamic weather events that move across the open seas with various degrees of strength and sizes, all the way up to hurricanes. They can form at open sea, and then continue to grow โ or dissipate when crossing land terrain.
They literally built Sid Meier Pirates into Bannerlord. That is so cool
>>2084408>>2084303Man if they can get autistic about this then maybe they'll hyperfocus diplomacy next, i actually dont know much about Vanilla diplomacy because i played pure vanilla once then decided to install Diplomacy right after.
Carribean Warband was the best when it was in beta back in the days. holy
>>2083830No, no mods I'm aware of require older versions
It's more the opposite, wse the script extender has come a long way and is now capable of some really impressive things (more corpses, larger battle sizes, ragdoll you can hit)
>>2083874That's native mapgen, a lot of mods either use their own or fixed maps
my first ship will be a FESTUNG
>>2084482My first ship will be called Your Mom because she'll fill up with men and horses until she breaks
There was a Caribbean game on the Warband engine that sucked ass, so they probably want to have a natively functioning naval system in Bannerlord.
Unfortunately, I can't see it integrating well with the gameplay and not ending up as an afterthought for every playthrough.
>>2084408My first ship will be called King Harlaus' Revenge
>>2084511I think its gonna be an autistic little game within a game that will be pretty good but not interface with the base mechanics well at all, like how smithing is way more complex than it really needed to be but ultimately adds nothing to the actual game and few people fuck with it.
Maybe if they spend 10 years making more of these mini games and give you more shit to do the game will be less dull outside of 24/7 battles.
>>2084581i will kneel when they apply that level of autism to lords' interactions and make the economy tax focused.

>>2084596>After landing, however, you may find yourself busy raiding and sieging enemy settlements, eventually wandering far off from your ships. To set sail again, you can either head back to your anchored ships or make for the nearest coastal town and summon your ships to meet you there.
That's cool, too bad the base gameplay of this game is wandering around auto-resolving the same shit battles forever while stuck in endless meaningless wars, click upgrade troops, haul prisoners back to town for 5k gold, auto sell your inventory full of shit dropped loot, then go back out and do it again with the next mindless interchangeable lord to cross your path. How the fuck will the sea battles change anything? Try adding some fucking gameplay first.
Gonna start a playthrough and just do sharpshooters and sergeants--name my kingdom Rhodock

I've heard Shokuho is basically bannerlord japan edition which sounds underwhelming, does the whf mod have fun shit in it like dungeons and stuff? the art direction looks great at least
>>2085697Bannerlord japan is underselling it. Yeah it's still the same game but for what it adds I just can't go back to even a heavily modded vanilla again.
>>2085700Funnily enough, I got bored with Shokuho fairly quickly and only made me want to play vanilla again.
My vanilla campaign is still going strong.
Shokuho has some nice (mod) things going for it, but very bland in every other aspect. It has very little to show for considering the amount of time it took to develop.
And I'm a weeb who loved Gekokujo and was looking forward to Shokuho for years.
>>2085697i think it's great. still has a long way to go and it seems like they don't do hotfixes even for very annoying known issues but i've already had more fun with it than vanilla
idk how i keep forgetting this.
you could ride horses in towns in warband but can't in bannerlord.
you could even ride random horses in town scenes if you spawned inside the town instead of outside.
>>2084109That's modern gaming in general. View it like I do - game is not finished until they release final patch and move on. Only then your mods will be safe, unless you have GoG version like me and can just back up the older version with those mods.

>>2088404There, being less perks but having them be much more impact ful I think would certainly make Leveling up a little more rewarding.
Maybe every 50 Levels rather than every 25 levels. That's already half the perks there are removed.
>>2087096Nah, Warband is so simple compared to Bannerlord. If you just bumrush mid-late game by cheesing bandit party after bandit party then of course you're not having fun with the game.
>>2088918I've been thinking they need to remove the skill points and only have stat points, then they can rebalance all the skill caps so they advance linearly. Force a choice between being decent at everything or good in a few areas as opposed to now where you're basically great everywhere and a demigod in a few areas. And then remove all the governor perks and just make them passives that you automatically pick up. The other skills can then be rebalanced and just spaced out every 50 levels.

Just imagine if armor and weapon types actually had material, construction and culture specific modifiers, ie
>ye olde vlandian gloves of faggotry: +3% to polearm speed>imperial decorated scale armor: -3% morale loss from bad events with imperial troops in party, -5% to armt cohesion loss rate when in inventory>Battanian falx: ignores 5% of armor not made in BattaniaSo on and so forth. Just for a start.

does anyone know if there's a quicker/faster way to grind gold out in multiplayer? i just want a tabard for my vlandian sergeant instead of just plain mail but it seems like you earn it so fucking slow
>>2088960How so? I find Warband, especially with some mods like Litdum and WSE for the increased battle size, to be much more in depth than Bannerlord. Even the Diplomacy mod on its own for Warband brings it head and shoulders above Bannerlord with a much longer mod list and it works right after download. No setting tweaks or anything.

It's so short the motion never gets interrupted from lack of space, but has around twice the range due to the lunge during the thrusting animation. The speed is quite fast, especially on hit.
It's a bit finicky to aim, but usually kills in one hit and the tip can find its way past shields surprisingly easy.
It destroys shields in 2-3 hits, then the AI can't even block since the thrust seems to have a long damage hitbox.
I'm using RBM though. So far it's the best weapon to train polearm.

>>2090442>Is the new expanded/changed map from War Sails also in the base game, or do you have two different world maps?>There will be two separate world maps - the existing one for the base game and the new one for War Sails. The latter will contain changes relevant to naval gameplay and the new Nord faction discussed in our last blog.WHY THE FUCK WOULD YOU DO THIS
TWO WORLD MAPS WITH TWO DIFFERENT INCOMPATIBLE NAV MESHES, TWICE THE WORK AND TWICE THE BUGS
>>2090478post this question on that thread
>>2090478The optimistic view is that the old nav mesh is the current one so mods/old saves still work while the new one is the one that will be used going forward
THE TURKS LISTENED AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
>Yes โ tariff income has been significantly rebalanced to diversify town income sources. Previously, tariffs made up only a tiny fraction of a townโs income (around 2%), but they will now contribute about 30% on average and can reach over 60% in trade-heavy towns like Danustica. This change will encourage players to consider trade routes and town specializations more carefully, making settlement management and project choices more meaningful.
>>2090478Literally no other way to do this if they still want to allow people who would not buy the DLC to play?
Like, Non War-Sail owners would still need to have a map to play, so the old map still needs to exist, but they need a new map for the DLC content.
>>2090578They really like War up north.
Not historically accurate, but rule of cool etc
First time playing Bannerlord and I joined the Khuzait. We're at war with the Southern Empire, and they gave me a castle. But this thing is draining my moneyโI'm down to 30k denars and my income is in the negatives (-1k).
How do I turn this around and make a positive income? Should I just give the castle away for now?
>>2090444That's a shame. They could have at least reduce their size and still kept them in the area.
>>2090616just win battles.
in the long term, you can upgrade a building that reduces wages of garrisoned soldiers in a castle.
How do I join chaos in old realms? Do I have to go through the witch hunter quest?
>>2090444why remove them tho
>>2090670My guess is they couldn't implement oversea only trade without breaking their turkjeet code
>>2090678But they added that new island for the Nords.
>>2090670>>2090678 99% certain that it was because the islands were so big on a sea so small they couldnt make the currents and weather system fit around them. That whole body of water is little more than a lake, it already defied logic thst it kept the Aserai away from the continent somehow. The only real loss is no slaver republics in there.

Weird question:
I've been mucking around with a Warband mod and added an item to itemkinds1.txt. It's spawning right and the modifiers are working, but for some reason the modifier text in the tooltip doesn't show up (in the pic, there should be text that says "-3 swing damage" - this works for all other items, just not the one I added). Anybody had to deal with this before?
Is Banner Kings worth giving a go? It with culture expanded looks like it adds a fuckload of content but is it actually worth spending the time on?
>>2091323That's a mod feature the source will be referencing item ranges that you're adding items outside of
It's the same with any mod added features ie equipment penalties in Viking Conquest
knowing only about the crusades, i can't really get over adding ships for everyone.

>>2091561They probably did, especially when in Northern Sea or other seas and not in the rivers.
>>2091545Damn, I was worried that might be the case. Thanks for confirming.
>>2091323Is it just me, or is Warband's UI just better than Bannerlord's?
>>2091846It is, everything in Bannerlord is just ugly and soulless in general. Tries too hard to be "modern" but can't even do that
>take bunch of lords prisoner during the civil war
>win the war
>they're still my prisoners despite belonging to the same fraction
>I can't free them
>I can go to them and talk to them as if they were my firends and ask them to give me misions
>two of them even said he supports me becoming the martial
kek I don't think I will ever stop finding dumb shit in this game.
Why the fuck are the vasals not joning me in the siege? I'm the martial, they're all fallowing me and for some reasone when I start a siege I'm alone.
Does the game only have two endings? It's kinda shit they're tied to the main quest. It's way too unreasonable and the quest is very poorly done.
I married my bro to Ira and created an imperial faction through rebellion, but it really was meant to be just a faux empire, named Second Calradian Empire. Arzagos's reasoning made no sense, was extremely short-sighted and personally driven. The palaic people were murderous scum worse than the empire, they assimilated naturally through civilization. Istiana was talking some sense, yet I was put off with how comfortable she was with the intrigue that rotted the state and led to the current crisis. I saw creating a fresh state that preserved elements of the imperial tradition as the best solution, since going full ethnostate is not viable within the game's mechanics.
I held off the final step of the main quest until a single enemy castle remained, but the timer was still very tight. Not getting a unique ending or being shoehorned into the imperial one was a letdown. Saving the empire meant strengthening the oligarchs, which left a bad aftertaste. Destroying it sounded like a happier ending, but seemed like we weren't told the full story, since there is no way it created any kind of peace (also completely ignored the Khuzait).
The game should have more endings, one for every kingdom and a special calradian one for the player. Kingdom endings shouldn't need world conquest, only a dominant position, while the player kingdom should involve some form of state building, like in King of Dragon Pass.
Pic related, my Dominatrix Imperatrix. She had seven husbands, including three brothers. Getting a husband from each state turned out to be too much of a hassle... The heir is going to be one of my bro's kid, so who cares?

Now that I'm getting into smithing I can see where the complaints come from. This shit is tedious.
I gave Shokuho another try, but the mod simply sucks.
I got hit with the permanent disorganization bug for fighting too many consecutive battles. There is no fix and now my game is ruined.
That's it, I'm finished with this game. With the delay of the expansions, I'm not going to touch it ever again.
>>2094806I was excited for shokuho to come out and as soon as I booted it up and got to the shitty character background selection all the things I hate about Bannerlord started to crop back up, dropped it shortly after starting and went back to playing warband mods
There's finally a rome mod that works called ACAN I started alongside 457
>>2094806can't you store your troops with a clan member party or in a fief then suicide a battle solo to get rid of the buggy modifier?
>>2094931Yeah, it was a letdown. Worse, it even made me miss the shitty Bannerlord things, like the basic plot, pre-existing siblings and simplistic map.
The only things going for Shokuho are the temples, camping and books. The map is okay too, but waaay too huge.
>>2094935The save is barely 3 hours in, so no fiefs or anything like that. The old fix I read was that joining an army supposedly resets it, but that no longer worked.
By the way, fuck the Shokuho discord. I searched certain mod issues and the endless disorganization bug, but all the results were reddit tier snarky comments offering no real answers and complaints that someone already asked this somewhere.

Anyone have any solutions to getting massive stuttering during battles past the vanilla max size for them? I'm using WSE2 for the record, but even then I think maybe the game is just being pushed to much to the limit and I'm overestimating how much it can help performance. If there's one thing I'd take Bannerlord over Warband on any day it's the fact that I can run 500v500 max battles smoothly, what's the highest you guys have gotten in Warband without the game shitting itself?
I started playing bannerlord online and holy shit this game is dead as fuck, like unironically the only thing there is to do is to fight looters. What a piece of shit mod
>>2095678i tried it once and i was stuck farming for hours to get anything done and i tossed it right away
>>2095703I am convinced this piece of shit mod was built as some sort of Russian grinding game to get money out of ppl or something, there is literally nothing to do other than fighting different colors of looters for hours and hours just to get a few skill points level ups, the entire mod is pointless and has no substance. The game is "online" but there is fuckall to do together, what a fucking joke
>>2095707thats why we waiting for bannerlord coop
why does bannerlord feel so fucking boooringg even with proper mods?
warband feels like its gritty all the time and like you are in the action whereas bannerlord just fucking feels shit all the time, is it the graphics of bannerlord?
it feels so soulless
>>2095842Its the speed, warband was waaaay faster, everything in bannerlord feels slow motion
I'm playing 1257 for the first time in years, this World Map is absolutely fucking dogshit, were most Warband mods like this for the world map? I could've sworn some of them tried to at least have some level of detail to them even if it's not the biggest priority. I think my main problem with even some of the big Warband mods is just how little polish the people making them put in, it's like every mod chooses the ugliest possible font and the rest of the UI Design is straight out of my grade-school PowerPoint presentations.
>>2095676Turn off sound occulsion
>>2096072No 1257 is notorious for running like dookie and having very little on the overworld aside from lords & bandits, there's no villager parties

But 1257 was made a long time ago and warband modding has come a long way, there's a lot more you can do now especially with wse2
>but I dont have any skills making mods or games.Neither did I when I started but I started small with editing warband text files like the actions.txt and item_kinds1 and eventually went on to source and making my own mods. Just start small by doing some item editing with morgh's

why does the daggerfall mod for warband run like shit even in wse2?
>>2096785Probably poorly optimized, I think it's just a poor man's warsword conquest
>>2096903it's just remarkable
perisno used to be the mod that was 'poorly optimized' for me, i install wse2 and i can play it with 500 man battles and it works like a dream
but daggerfall has weird texture problems (mail especially looks really weird for some reason), the map lags like crazy if you fast travel ( i have literally never experienced it this bad before ) and sieges just instacrash if you try to put the slider above 300 guys.
also, the map could be minituarized to like half the scale and it would still be too big. travel takes too damn long

>>2096072It's because 1257 is made by autists and not the good kind, the kind who absolutely have to have every Belarusian mud hut village even if it kills performance to the point they have to remove villager parties. (this is also why all towns have "unbearable poverty" because there are no villagers bringing their goods to them to raise their economy)
The kind who look at a map of Europe and think "Mountains, what's that?" (this is why the map is so flat)
>>2097054Literally how do you spell it though. Furdishi, Furdnshi? Both give nothing
>>2096541>feastsFeasts were shit in Warband and i wish people started aiming higher because regular, periodic or emergent events that draw lords in can be done in a lot more interesting ways, ie religious ceremonies that happen once a year, birthdays, funerals, marriages, all things that happen in the fucking game and could be actually scheduled events that NPCs attend to.
Imagine if when an important lord kicks it the entire faction gets notified of their imminent funeral and you can actually attend the scene and maneuver politically there. Imagine if you could actually be there when the child of a lord is born and you can gift them something and actually boost your relationship with them in a real in-world way.

Not everywhere you had this strict feudal hierarchy that is thought at schools. It's an illusion. Village notables are essentially your village elders, of various kinds.
Guilds could maybe nice to add, but they probably don't fit the game, even if you can be a caravan driver/merchant.

I personally knew that the feudal model didn't really fit all of Europe since I live in Eastern Europe which had different trajectory when it comes to these things, with serfdom being entrenched after middle ages, not before, but I was fooled that Western Europe was more feudal than it actually was.

>>2099575I mean of course I used to do most of the battles, but there isn't any reason to. All of the effort you put in to scrape by some of these battles, and then your kingdom votes to add a second war to the pile, and a fief you had somewhere gets taken because of it, or the AI simply has no clue how the loyalty mechanic works and they lose everything you worked for to revolts. All of that effort you're putting in is meaningless. There is nothing at the end of the tunnel except even more meaningless wars and battles.

I've ctrl-f'd certain bits like 2 73 1 23 2147484654 because it seemed pretty uniform, but the block that shows up on the thread isn't there in the mod's mission_templates.

>>2099556>I can't blame people too much, because sources and language is vague in them, but yeah, schools, at least, have been using outdated models for decades now.Makes sense, i assume it's because when they made curriculums that suggested all that they really really wanted it to fit a narrative and if not a narrative then a category. No nuance just a straight answer.
>>2099543>>2099556The problem is that there's still needs to be an agreed order of some kind to inform the setting, like the notables in a town should be notables of SOMETHING, not just multipurpose bosses who are all vaguely criminal-inclined. There needs to be a good explanation as to who these guys are and why they are in every town, which isn't really hard to do. They could be members of a town COUNCIL, including the owners of shops and land in the town, or just the richest ones, that way we know they have pull and they can represent the bottom-up dynamic of power and their interactions with the lords(which should be present as well). The Feudal structure wasn't strictly present everywhere but there was a tendency towards incorporation. Guilds were a big one but not the only one, collegia survived from the Roman times, religious orders and societies were a rough equivalent for non-tradesmen, and the actual feudal systems of serfdoms carried with them a hefty administrative body in the medieval manor itself.
I don't think it should be autistically applied into the game but anything that addresses the disconnect between the notables as quest-giving NPCs and the world around them would be a huge improvement for immersion. I think doing something like giving every notable one of a series of titles and making towns have mini-clans inside that stand for a gamut of interest groups that -produce- notables would be a good way to do it.
