why does nobody make RTS games with sandbox campaigns? or even 4X style games with RTS battles?
the most popular RTS in the world for normies is Rimworld, and it's an RTS sandbox game, no? and nobody is trying to make something like it 12 years later?
because it's a dead genre nobody likes
>>2076551 (OP)They do/did, go play rise of nations.
>why does nobody make RTS games with sandbox campaigns?
Because it serves no real purpose or has already been done, it's an empty word, just like that one "open world RTS" retard.
>4X style games with RTS battles?
Total War is the closest you'll have and to everything wrong with it is also the reason why it isn't more popular.
>Rimworld, and it's an RTS sandbox game
It's a colony sim and it's a different subgenre.
>>2076551 (OP)>why does nobody make RTS games with sandbox campaigns?Retard. There are tons of those.
>>2076551 (OP)Games like Rimworld are called sims rather than RTSes, and it's a fairly productive family of games, though quite derivative.
>>2076642name tons of those right now
>>2076635>>2076684still an RTS.
>>2076551 (OP)>the most popular RTS in the world for normies is Rimworldyou don't know what an RTS is
>>2076551 (OP)Define "sandbox campaign", then tell me how would you realistically implement it into the game. Don't just ask stupid questions because then you'll get stupid answers like "go make your own then, smartass".
