Its actually quite easy, specially going absolutist and only destroying the sazons while allying the montaklar ones (forgot their name) just make sure to:
>Get derdia and Morelia to your side and form Inter-Merkopiom later on, bu far the easiest way to become relevant if your getting sanctioned
>make sure to give your body guard enough funds to investigate the zille bombing to jail rusty and blackmail Lespia into not sanctionning you (they will still support pales)
>Wehlen is a irrelevent shithole that you dont need to appease, sign the trade deal and dont accept anything and if you jailed your cousin and framed him for the zille bombing you should promise deliviring him to wehlen (wich you wont, just banish him to that island for hugo)
>Invest into at least 5 tank divisions and 6 support units and get at least some decent airforce to help your navy, and get 6 moves per turns instead of 4

By poisoning Valero, he ensured you came to power and saved the nation. He also doesn't betray you. I figured his power moves were aiming to take the spotlight, but going with the theocracy ending you're the one being named as the chosen by God and all that.

I wouldn't blame anyone for poisoning Valero. If it weren't for public image, the person who did it should honestly get a medal for saving Rizia.
