Are there any other strategy games that really go hard on the Y2K-mid 00's future war aesthetic? Pic related is flawed but it scratched that itch perfectly.
Act of War i guess, and to a lesser extent its successor Act of Aggression although its more into mid 2010's aesthetics
>futuristic, but not too much
That's a very specific flavor, characteristic of TC's political fiction mostly. Can't think of anything other than the Red Alert series, and that's a stretch. The upcoming Global Conflagration seems interesting.
>>2090809 (OP)The PSP version is so underrated.
Playing Endwar reminded me of an older game called World War III: Black Gold. The games aren't very similar but I get the feeling Endwar devs were inspired by it. I mean, both are about dwindling oil supplies, a global war sparked by a terrorist act, and in both games you don't build any factories but ship in your units off map via transports that can be shot down.
>>2091368underrated as in a completely different game to the point of 0 resemblance of the original, extremely basic and boring? It's in my top 5 of all time disappointing piles of shit
>>2090809 (OP)Cant think of much strategy games, but then again im more of a swords and magic sort of RTS guy. Only the Cods, the other Tom Clancy games, and maybe Stalker come to mind. I think the thing about this "aesthetic" is that it's literally just what people in the 2000s thought the future would be like, especially when they were testing all that future soldier stuff.
