>>2090998 (OP)>Brain-dead AI using pre-defined script>Abysmal campaign that runs on exploits>Gold adds a so-so world conquest>It wasn't until 2004 autismos figured a way to auto-gen maps for it, so you were at the mercy of shitty in-game maps and autistic challenge maps (as if AI could handle those anyway)>The iconic road system, once you look pass the "cool" feature, is pretty shit and very easy to exploit, both against human and AIPeople shit on 3 for "dumbing down" the game, but it's the first game in the series that was actually playable and has any kind of replay value other than memorising win moves and then recreating them time and again in the most literal repetition possible. Remember that barracks rush in European map in Gold, so you can knock the "Greek" player from building up into the Illyria? Or those moves for ship so you hit the gold island on the first go?
And the funniest part is that zoomershits that weren't even born until Ubisoft fucked Settlers into oblivion are the main audience defending 2 for "muh iconic classic".

Educate men without faith and you make them but clever devils.
>>2090998 (OP)Truth nuke, I played for the first time a few years ago and I remember it being mediocre.
sync kills alone made the game worth playing
DOW 3 failed because no sync kills
>Fast paced combat with a good mix of melee and ranged units
>Most units have either load-outs or abilities to keep them versatile through to the late game
>Resource system actively encourages fighting for map control as much as possible, while discouraging turtling due to resource decay
>Great voice-acting and OST
>Visuals still hold up to this day, sync kills are also cool even if they fuck with the balancing a bit
>Huge faction and unit variety, with multiple factions having unique mechanics (e.g. ork's population system, IG bunkers and tunnels, Eldar base invisibility and webway gates, Necrons not even using the most common resource etc)
>Lots of mod support from the community
>Campaigns (aside from the base game iirc) have plenty of genuinely challenging missions
Not really sure why people would dislike it 2bh, it's not the most complex RTS game but it definitely has enough depth to be enjoyable while not forcing you to spend 10 minutes herding villagers/workers every match.
>>2093293Itโs because itโs too โnormieโ and not autistic enough. Same crowd who hold a grudge against CA for not having done Medieval 3 so they take their anger out on Warhammer 3.
>>2093293anon, 4chan has been the world capital of senseless contrarianism for well over a decade now.
Something is universally acclaimed as an all-time classic quality game? Watch unwashed nigger hordes chimp out over it like some Goldstein idol, making up wild claims and headcanons that wouldn't ever exit the throat of a game enthusiast when the game came out.
