Not sure if this belongs here or /tg/ since they are technically boardgames uploaded to the computer. But most of this shit absolutely mogs modern day wargames.

If you use this, what are you playing? Looking for a good solitaire game based around world war 1.

Going to give Paths of Glory a try, then maybe Red Poppies campaign

I just heard about it myself and I'm fairly new to hex & counter (((true))) grognard stuff but anyway I will follow this thread. the whole wargame thing finally clicked with me a few months back "who in the SHIT cares about these wars and better yet who would ever want to play them out as a game - either physically or digitally??" yeah.. shame on me guys, shame on me. they are a lot of fun. my issue now, like many, is that I've got a backlog I'm chipping through because I keep getting these free games and buying things cheap on these Steam sales. Going through Panzer Corps 2 now. in any case Paths of Glory is a GMT game and it's Operational, so I bet it's great. have fun

This will be my first GMT game I think.
I really wanted to play "1914: Twilight in the East" by them, but the map is glitched and broken on vassal :(


It usually takes me a week or two to learn the rules with this kind of shit which is a pain. Learned my first hex wargame with "Great Wars in the East quad: Serbia/Galacia" by SPI. I highly recommend this game for learning the basics of wargaming since it's just infantry and cavalry + adjacent attacks only.

The next things on my backlog will probably be:
"The Hunted: Twilight of the U-Boats, 1943-45". by GMT
"Panzerblitz" by avalon hill

still looking for more WW1 stuff though preferably
