HoloID was never going to be as successful of a venture as the later HoloEN but the culture developed among its fans (and, frankly, several of its talents, like Ollie and Iofi) is the reason why it's less lucrative and thus gets fewer opportunities than other branches. They're terrified of being "parasocial" or "halu" to an extent that they're hesitant to show passion for their oshis and, more importantly, refuse to buy anything ever. The smarter talents have figured out that it's better to cater to either Japan or the West.

Reine was doing alright before she started contracting lupus.
Anya is fine.

>Reine
Yeah, she's also my favorite of the branch. But she along with Kaela are basically EN-adjacent in terms of both content and fanbase.
>Anya
See "cater to JP"

Doesn't Kaela discourage "halu" a lot?

I don't get it. Kobo is as big as she is because of Indonesia.

It's rich seeing Iofi and Risu complain about not making enough money or getting the same opportunities as EN when they spent the last 4-5 years actively killing any gachi they had. When ID3 debut they started fostering a culture of "SKIP AD" viewers instead of those willing to pay.
At some point Cover leadership realized that ID is just sharing the same paying fanbase with HoloEN and told them they had to grow their own audience if they want another gen.

Kobo is a complete outlier because she plugged into Indonesian meme/eceleb culture and therefore has a huge fanbase that has next to zero overlap with anyone else in the entire company. There's no real comparison but the closest might be like Gura's first couple months.

Kobo isn't big. You don't even see Kobokers in the wild. She has no fans. Doesn't help that she stopped streaming.

Kobo lost most of her popularity already, even at her peak she wasn’t making much money since her fans are proud poorfags.

More than just JP. She's a "what you see is what you get" vtuber that's closer to a let's play VOD than a modern streamer. Not unique in the grand scheme of things, but kinda unique for a vtuber. Spurning gachis isn't exactly an inherently bad thing, just don't antagonize them.

As for Reine, she's just really sick and streams her comfort games and doesn't have much energy for much else.

I'm sure it takes a real mental giant to figure out fans in Indonesia have less disposable income than Americans or the Japanese

They do but even on a proportional level they spend less and have an active cultural hostility to buying merch or superchats

SEA bring views but not money just like LATAM. That's the reason why Cover is there in the first place to inflate the stream numbers for their shareholders
