I'm not sure what either of those have to do with the conversation. Putting in a best effort doesn't really mean nitpicking trivial details or getting decision paralysis because something isn't perfect. I would say a lot of the menhera over streaming I see from aspies is because they go down the pipeline where they get frustrated by not getting traction or not building an audience and then get sour grapes and make up reasons they didn't want that growth anyway or that they didn't really want to aspire to be better in the first place. I assumed that was the point of this thread's title being "aspiring" vtubers and not "water treading" vtubers or "settling for less" vtubers. There is an unfortunately large group that unironically calls putting effort into things 'tryharding' though so who really knows anymore.

If I'm not improving or at least maintaining a suitable amount above the baseline then yeah, why would I keep doing it? Its clearly not helping and I'm putting in a lot of effort for little return. There are better things I can do with my time than things that don't improve the little time I have on this planet. Most people who don't see results working out are just exercising wrong or doing the wrong routines with the wrong methods so quitting outright is probably wrong when learning how to correct mistakes and do things correctly is more beneficial. Doesn't make it less work but it does mean unlearning bad habits and course correcting so you can get back to working towards self-improvement.

Interesting thing I noticed in my time around this thread. Burnout tends to hit the ones who started vtubing looking for friends because they're lonely more than it hits the ones who seem to put the most into their content and grind at it. Why is that? Somebody was saying last thread if you have a job and stream you're sure to burn out but the lowest effort ones all burnt out the fastest.

There's two different situations that are important to distinguish

Networking for growth is a lot more than just vibing with people you like.

If this is a career, you need to make business orientated decisions. Of course, the perfect networking opportunity is somebody that fits you personally and business wise but those are rare. You should be asking yourself what does this person offer me?

Do they have an audience you want exposure to? Not just a big audience, but an audience that would find YOU interesting enough to check out. A lot of guys (and girls) think that chasing tail is "networking" because you are getting exposed to their audience when vtuber audiences are gender segregated largely. People who watch girls, don't want to watch guys and vice versa. That's not a valuable audience.

Do they create products/services you want? Like artists who could give you fanart, or editors who can make you clips, or people with technical or business information you want to learn from.

Do they create good clips? Not just that you get along when collabing, but they are a good performer so that when the two of you are together, you are greater than the sum of you individually.

Do they have good connections? Maybe they know someone who knows someone that you really want to connect with. Use that person to monkey branch your way around.

Yeah I feel that my eyes were my biggest mistake when I made my model. On my old hoodie before I became a slushy I had these radiant eyes that were my most standout feature. I planned to carry them over, but tried to make them match better. I didn’t realize until it was pointed out to me months later how dull I had made them.
