Sakana has a lot of money to throw around, he's just been frugal which is why Phase has been one of the few small corpos that made it out of the small corpo death year of 2024 unscathed when interest rates got hiked up on borrowing. However, he's at the stage where you have to put in stupid amounts of investment money for events and occasions to grow further even if he doesn't like it or doesn't think it's worth it. Going on Thursday and Friday I have not noticed any smells in either the elevator lobby area of the party floor, or at Chuuzerkai. I only spent like 1-2 hours each evening, however.

The air does feel hard to breathe, but I assume that's because the floor is almost hermetically sealed - there are no windows to open in either the public areas or within the rooms themselves.

Also worth noting that in my almost 20 years of Bay Area con going, I've -never- noticed any smell at cons.
