I understand that there are different types of vtubers that appeal to various audiences, but the most mainstream ones seem to stream for people in their early teens, which is really weird because you will see those same vtubers all of a sudden acting slutty and throwing a lot of sexual innuendos.
Is this what women think that being "edgy" means? Just acting trashy as fuck in front of literal kids?

Vtubing is for Japanese otaku, and Japanese modern media culture. The EN market is just secondary, merely copying some superficial aspects of vtubing for regular western influencer grifts.
If you want to research vtubing seriously, then 95% of everything is directed at Japanese vtubers, then 4.5% is split among other Asian vtubers, a fraction of a percent acknowledges western vtubers usually in the form of referencing Ironmouse in a sentence or two.
Western/EN vtubing may as well literally not exist to the broader culture.

You can check the JP side of vtubing and filter it out by views, and most of the 1 and 2 views will be playing the most FOTM or just popular games in general (minecraft,valo,apex, some JRPG shit, etc.)
