Doing live performances mean you have to memorize all the choreography and do constant dance and singing practices to be able to sing and dance live at an acceptable level. If hololive required this for all their performances, the talents would literally never have any time to stream or spend time with their fans, which is what they prioritize and why they are more popular than most other idol groups.

Not that it's perfect but at least something was in real time.

Some holos do "lives" because it's kind of expected and they can get a merch drop in. They have to give something back to the community for all the cash they received through the year or it looks terrible. Not knocking if they use recordings though; you gotta work with what you have, and I understand wanting to provide your loving fans a quality product even at the cost of being 100% genuine.

If you know your chuuba you can understand their strengths and weakness. If your oshi is more a streamer/comedian and you enjoy that content then its understandable that they might be insecure and/or really want to provide you good a concert. Ends justify the means mentality. It's not as if they don't work on vocals and dance but some just might not be into or able to do the 24/7 idol practice lifestyle. It's the feeling that counts.
