Nah I fixed it by troubleshooting. It turns out that it is easier to, as anon helpfully suggested, not going direct (window capture + filter: ChromaKey) which made me translucent. The plugin immediately removed the veado background colour and turned it black. Then I just have to set the Composite Mode to default rather than Opaque to fully allow transparency in my background (I tested this by moving input layers and the bottommost layer was visible if my PNG didn't obscure it.)

He was pretty open that he works client jobs as a trainer in the evenings when people are off work and able to go to the gym. Since he referred to them as clients they're probably by appointment/scheduled sessions and those guys make pretty good bank.
