The second one is the funniest of them all, because people act like "uhm yes, Youtube chatters are so clean and they don't spam", while I've seen some of the streams and most are emotes, what I often see tho is obviously 7tv, and even then that's really to the option of the creator.
The third one is just stupid, I get it if you are poor and watch it on an IPhone, but there's adblockers for it, the one app for android that blocks ads, or even more so, and if they stream a lot, just subscribe, like it's not expensive as shit lol

I think they see that the ad revenue for a particular stream dramatically drops off over time and they want to keep making money. So they have a cut off so there arent 103957013860183 VODs taking up storage space but making them no money. I can't even remember the last time I heard about someone having copyright issues on Twitch. It's a literal hourly occurrence on YouTube.
If you have copyrighted audio in your stream, it just gets muted on the VOD and nobody's watching VODs on Twitch anyway.

As for why it's better, well, there's lower latency, it actually has moderation tools, the API allows for plugins and integration with games for deeper interactivity, and Twitch doesn't require a third-party extension to fix a years-old memory leak in the chatbox, to start.

What really sucks about the Twitch ad situation is the ad blockers work for most people, and they refuse to believe it doesn't work for everyone.
I know someone that only has uBO. No extra Twitch specific piece or anything, and he gets no ads. Most people use one of the Twitch specific solutions (that you may or may not have to swap around because they are constantly trying to make them not workable), and they mostly work.
For me, up until Twitch started apparently showing a mini-player of the stream during an ad, none of the Twitch specific solutions worked for long if ever. Not even the proxy one that most people used that was meant to get rid of ads by grabbing the stream from a country where no ads would be or could be displayed. The aforementioned mini-player did seemingly solve the solution, but I seldom look at twitch for long so for all I know it could still sometimes fail.

As an aside, fuck I wish we could have Twitch tier chat implementation on Youtube instead. IRC-based chat just works, is super light, and easily extended. Fuck the jeets that came up with the Youtube chat system.

Same, whatever method Twitch uses is unskippable with uBlock, I discovered accidentally that playing streams from an embedded window (like the way many general OPs include chuubas twitch pages + 4chanXT) kind of reduces the length of the ads at best.
