This issue is the company outgrew the actual people working for it. Initially it was

Then they actually make it! They succeed and get all the money they'll ever need. But instead of finally being able to rest or just basking in the success, they get forced to work EVEN HARDER to make more money, but for who? pie in the sky gamedev bullshit? Hundreds of paper pushers they don't even know? Different divisions of the company? Stock holders?
Why would they want to do that?
It's like you just spent years building your dream home with and then some guy comes over and says, "alright now built a hundred more of them so I can rent them out"
Yes there's investments and loans, but they MORE than paid back what they took to get started already, they don't owe anyone anything. If the company goes into debt trying to expand for no reason it's not their duty to fight to the death to make more money to support it.
Objectively the only correct move is to leave and become indie. You paid your dues, you got your popularity, now it's time to take hold of it yourself and use it for your own benefit.
