The entirety of Hololive's success came from monopolizing the Youtube algorithm after a few clips and a graduation.
They can have their shit concerts and brand sponsors but streaming was always something for everyone with a vtuber model and a camera.

If you were to stream pre-2023 it would be literally impossible to break 100 viewers, with some vtubers stuck at that number even after years of grinding.

You could go into Youtube, type "vtuber" and the search would be 99% hololive content that would scroll down forever.
I used a new account to follow one indie and the recommendations were pure fucking hololive, it was the same with any small corpo.
Once you clicked one hololive clip all the related vtuber content was purely hololive.
