Pretty self-explanatory thread title. What are some examples of Vtubers who got a new worse design? And which got an overall visual improvement?
Could be either redesigns or new personas, as long as it's the same talent behind the model.

Pikamee had such a cute design that is was rare even among JP vtubers. Henya is closer to a Twitch vtuber which does match the VShojo environment but sexy designs are extremely common in the western market.

Anon you are splitting hairs and Henya is clearly a more expensive 2DLive model compared to Pikamee. Much like Saba the model rigging and range of expressions is far greater. The Pikamee design though was more unique.

I’d say Pikamee to Henya was a sidgrade, but only because I don’t particularly like either design. Otherwise, I think Juna Unagi’s original design was way better than her newer one, and Ironmous still hasn’t debuted anything that’s as good as the Nia model she had to stop using when Kson joined Vshojo.

As someone who never really watched Gura - I liked fapping to Gura and have no desire to fap to Saba at this time.
Obviously Saba's rigging is much better and her design isn't bad at all, but Gura's design was much more appealing to me.

I can definitely see how the design was a downgrade from something simple & perfect to something a lot more overdesigned. The problem is it required a specific cartoony artstyle which doesn't fit in well with other vtubers.

Pikamee was very iconic, but damn it was rigid, had like 2 expressions, and in some iterations, the layering was extremely apparent.
Maybe that model is why she's one of the better vtubers at driving her model now (actually uses her toggles).

At first, I thought Henya's eyes were a bit weird, but nah, it's a pretty peak model.

I don't dislike her model as Matara, but Nina's look gives me more warm fuzzies. It's the perfect amount of sexy and warmth. The roach design is really cool, but it goes too far for me in terms of exposure. The fox is more modestly dressed, but you can't deny its inherent charm and allure, made even more so by the woman behind the model.
Either way, I want to be held into her chest and feel it rise and fall from her breathing and fall asleep while she runs her fingers through my hair.
