If you're removing the ex-holos, it'd be fair to remove doki and mint as well from the equation as well.

The sad thing is that because there's no real unity between indies, there's no incentive to organize events. I think right now the only independent vtubers who are capable and willing to organize events of a large scale are Filian and Doki. There's Kanna from glitch stars (Formerly Pixellink) seems like she's been working on it too, as well as Katarina Qutie (formerly Idol), but they don't really have the same kind of pull right now. Mariya from v4Mirai has been organizing a bunch of shit which has included indies, so that might be an avenue.

Well there's a few but the more you remove the smaller they get. There's several vtubers on twitch getting like 3k but they generally are all react streamers and have absolutely no bearing on the regular scene.

The /lig/ and /big/ indie sphere doesn't have that many rising stars anymore. They try to take credit for "indies" who built their entire fanbase and reputation in a corpo. Also no one counts "mythic."
