I'm suspecting this is YouTube's fuckery with the algorithm but over the past month or more there's been a few old songs by holos that have a massive jump in views. Some people might have noticed this with Okayu's and Nene's kawaikute gomen covers, but that's a relatively popular song even now. The thing is that it has happened with the most seemingly random of covers - Moona's GEKKOU cover, Irys' inochi cover, the naimononedari cover on the regloss channel which was popular and died down a while after release just surged and was outpacing some of marines MVs for a week or so. There might be more than this; you can review this on the Vtuber Top Tunes channel (though their way of placing songs differs from other similar channels). The thing is that is now happening with a holostar, Rikka, who's had at least two different songs surge in views; one is an original. I'd assume this is because he's recognised by YouTube as an artist, as it is with the others who have experienced this (I think)
Before anyone says this is what YouTube/the algo always does; it really isn't, it's fairly recent. Most times when a song has climbed the ranks there is almost always some reasoning or push behind it (shuffle medley comes to mind)

i just got home from smash sydney. the concert was really polished, cover has gotten really good at it. everyone, including guests, had an MC segment. i'm pretty sure it was all prerecorded but they're getting really good at selling the live performance (compared to connect the world).
the crowd was really good, and they are the main reason why these concerts are fun to attend.
i may be biased because everyone i like has graduated, but this is obviously a Cover concert, not a concert by the talents, so in some ways it feels a bit soulless and commercial, but who cares, everyone had fun.
