2D almost always looks better than 3D. 3D offers more content opportunities than 2D. The only advantage of a PNG other than resources is perhaps the stylized nature of it. Despite what people say there is a niche for reactive PNG type content and it can appeal to more normie viewers than a full 2D. I’d go 2D.
