Growing up in the us, they're isolated at their core because their families instill their customs, heavily diluted, at Home, making them different from the majority of their peers.

Back at their parent's Home country, the dilution of customs, aswell as growing in a comfortable first world country, makes them unable to relate to their kin, being too entitled and conceited to form bonds with their etnic background.

In the US being isolated makes them embrace their diluted roots in an attempt to find a semblance of identity and belonging, being rabid at any perceived slight is thrown at them, and at the same time, they try to distanciate themselves from immigrants andn their culture since they're better for being born on this side of the fence.
