They don't actually know where the herniation is if it's right or left. I asked if he could just shave off the hernia and he basically said it would be exploratory surgery which he just doesn't want to do. He said the metal rods is a last resort option which he doesn't want to do because I'm young and the only other option is cortisone injections. I've had an MRI and it shows that the hernia did actually shrink quite a bit since like 2021 when I had the first injection, and he said if it were at that level still he would definitely recommend the metal rods, but right now said he wants to try injections mainly because like I said it'd be exploratory surgery rather than something concrete. They cant tell where that herniation actually is so injections are targeting around that area
