By being one of the first vtubers who made listenable music back in 2020, being stubborn as fuck, and popularizing the concert format. She did her 3D debut, released NEXT COLOR PLANET which got everyone's eyes on her, released GHOST which people called the best vtuber orisong to date, released Stellar Stellar and had her first sololive immediately after, and her popularity skyrocketed. I see people claiming that her popularity came out of nowhere but to anyone who isn't a complete newfag and saw it happen in real time it's extremely easy to pinpoint.

Yeah she's written lyrics and can sing, but you generally don't get a bunch of producers/musicians/techs under your thumb without a pile of cash or... other methods. anon, the 3 songs that made her popular came from people hololive had already done music with, or people that had already done vtuber music for others. she didn't "come up from nothing", she had two other original songs that kinda took off but not quite (one made by tatsuya kitani, before he ever got popular). also, she already had built her reputation as a singer by releasing a gazillion covers and doing a trillion karaoke streams. hell, her fucking casual outfit reveal was a pretty famous karaoke where the climax of a song was the instant she revealed the outfit. she put the work to have people give a shit about her music from the start and even then it took about 2 years.

i'm feeling old just having to explain this shit, it really feels like this was just common knowledge to anyone who remotely followed hololive back in 2020.
