Why did Fauna never collab with holostars?
Because she was best friends with Vesper and Magni, as evidenced by Magni making her debut lore animation and Vesper selling her merch on his store the moment she debuted as Nimi, and she didn't want anyone knowing.
Multiple talents have said that Cover's only rule about relationships is that ones between talent and staff and ones between hololive and holostars are not allowed.
Fauna was probably dating one of them, the company found out, and that's why both the homos were immediately fired. It's why Kronii felt betrayed, why Mori stopped promoting holostars, and why holoEN/stars collabs completely and suddenly stopped for 2 years until ERB and Shiori.

Cover couldn't fire Fauna together with the homos or else everyone would understand their firings were related and Cover's reputation would be ruined. Such revelations would destroy the holoEN and holostars branches, especially because there were already so many fans against the existence, let alone inclusion, of the EN holostars.
So instead of firing her, Cover gave Fauna increasing workloads and demands so that she would eventually quit on her own after around a year when everything had finally settled down. Look up madogiwazoku and oidashibeya.

Ame liked holostars and surely thought their firings were unjust. She reduced her streaming to almost nothing about a month after and eventually she decided that 2024 would be her last year in hololive. She created her Dooby discord in October 2023, only a few months after the homos were fired.

Gura and Mumei, being Fauna's friend, and especially because Gura was so close with Ame, both quit in solidarity. Kiara even said that they decided to graduate together.
Now it's been two years and Fauna's engaged to the homo she was dating while in hololive.
This is why no one was sad when Fauna left. They see her as a traitor that ruined the branch, convinced Gura and Mumei to leave, and ruined everyrhing they built together.
