Back then they served as the "grey area" between corpo and indie. But thanks to Gunrun lying his ass till the agencies' death, there is now only 2 options for VTubers: either be a corpo chuuba or not be a corpo chuuba, and no one will believe the "talent freedom" in corpos anymore

This changed the game for corpos because they cannot use that term to boost their PR without suspicious eyes on them, and they will absolutely avoid the policy of letting talents own IP after seeing VShojo collapsed without recovery because they have no assets to do shit. VShojo's biggest selling point has become their own demise, and they want no part of it

The fall of VShojo signals a new era in VTubing community as this means Hololive (or HoloEN in specific) will have no meaningful competitor in Western community, meanwhile Twitch will no longer have VShojo as the monopoly of Twitch VTuber corpo. Small start-ups will have to think twice about contracts so that they themselves don't get in the red and Niji will no longer have to worry about the "retirement home" stealing their livers

There were many big changes in the community, but I believe this is the point that is comparable to key world events like world war that shaped the community into something that we will not recognize, and we need to be ready for that

You act like vshojo is the fist company that had shitty contracts, broke contractual obligations, and/or committed embezzlement.
There will always be a demand for people working on behalf of creatives to manage stuff like merchandise, adverting, sponsorships, ect.
There will always be people and companies that are good, bad, and outright malicious at that.

vshojo was a terribly managed company and talent freedom (as well as the massive names this attracted) was the one thing dragging a company financially worse than tsunderia to survive all the way from 2020 to 2025.

It's not about shitty contracts, it's about keeping promises

Cover and Anycolor may have shitty contracts, but at least they stick to it. Meanwhile Vshojo can type a good contract with chatGPT but they did not follow it through

VShojo ain't a no-name company that only formed yesterday. They were so close to 5th anniversary and the community still loved VShojo until Zen left. VShojo is the first BIG company that LIED about their contracts, which is much more evil than other corpos who are upfront about their contracts, no matter how shitty it is

Where did I compare Vshojo to Cover or Anycolor? I said companies, as in companies in general. Why do embezzlement laws exist? Because it has all been done before. Few creatives want to do what Vshojo was ostensibly tasked with doing, especially when they become big, so companies that actually do those tasks will continue to be created and exist.

I think that's an admission that the brand itself gives a viewership buff that they didn't want to lose
