I think she would have been just as unhappy at Hololive to be honest. From the stories I have heard about how many talents have their ideas and projects shut down in Hololive Mint definitely would have run into issues. She was always coming up with ambitious projects outside the norm of how the company usually does things then getting frustrated when it gets turned down.

Are you autistic? I don't think Mint is perfect or anything but none of that stuff needs to be a lie. People can change their minds about things. She did go to school in Japan for months. then she changed her mind about not redebuting after talking it over with friends. Matara convinced her to give it a go with the idea of them doing that podcast together. She didn't want to join another corporation but then she found it lonely being without vtuber pals all working towards the same goal and had a chance at getting everything she ever wanted from a corpo. People change their minds about things as circumstances change thats normal life.

The reality of this kind of thing is its likely far more complicated than we will ever know. Anycolor has worked with plenty of music labels and still does and has their own ones now too and they have had many members collab with IRL idols. But that doesn't mean she would just be able to propose off her own back that she wanted to work with some specific music label or some specific idol and that would be fine. And that would likely be the same case regardless of which company you go to.

What I mean to say is there are all kinds of reasons you could imagine why stuff like this would get turned down. Maybe its Japanese company autism and you are stepping out of your lane as a member to try and setup that kind of thing up for yourself. Maybe the company sees that kind of thing as a reward or strategic decision about how they want to develop the career of said person. Maybe they have contractual obligations already with other labels. Maybe they have decided to focus more on developing their own labels now rather than signing people to external labels. Maybe they have had a bad experience with that label in the past so wont work with them anymore.

I'm sure there are members in HoloEN right now that would love to be signed to a record deal like Mori has with Universal or whatever but its not like they can all just go set one up for themselves with whichever label they want to without receiving any pushback on it from Cover who would likely see it as an important strategic and financial decision that was within their rights to control.
