They'll be the king of corpos for a long time to come. That said, indies at some point will completely eat their lunch. Vtubing is following the same timeline as 2010s Youtube with MCNs where creators are realizing they're better off on their own than with companies that take a large percentage of their profit. It can work in Japan with the autistic corporation worship (which is why Nijisanji and Hololive will never die barring a Vshojo-tier controversy), but they'll become more and more irrelevant in the western world as their share of the pie continues to shrink. I'd say 2027 or 2028 will be when their mindshare recedes to niche territory.
