If majority of people who watch vtubers, suddenly realized that the whole industry (including indies) is out to get their money in a predatory fashion and if those people would then turn against the women they watch, the world would be a be a better place. I would actually have some hope for the future if that happened.
>>103035185I am glad we agree on my point in OP.
>>103035051 (OP)Every single industry is out to get your money retard
>>103035264Not every single industry preys on your loneliness. I would argue minority of them do that.
>>103035295I slightly agree with you but your framing reeks of inceldom and the image you posted reeks of reddit.
Some vtubers are inherently predatory, especially in the indie space. Viewers are as much as the problem though.
I think the way you're framing it is fucking retarded. I would say a bigger issue are vtubers becoming political grifters to maintain relevance. At best it's really fucking tacky. At worst I think it's going to further push a lot of people into doing some really dangerous shit as lately the indie space has become a cesspool of confirmation bias of some of the worst types of people, and we've already seen examples of that.
I don't think the concern should be with ASMR whores but rather the bigger issue with VTubers involving themselves in political issues without any knowledge or proper care to the topics they cover, especially with how intimate a lot of Vtubers position themselves. Whether they mean to or not, they're essentially grooming people into really dangerous, hateful people.
Not that I think they care or will care. As long as the simp bag comes in.
>>103035051 (OP)I don't think it's predatory to provide some simulation of intimacy and personal attention. Vtubers aren't as good as actual Discord kittens but not everybody has money to give a kitten an allowance.
>>103036304>reeks of InceldomAre you a fucking tourist? Incels are based
>>103036304>framing reeks of inceldomI am sorry but this hobby is for "incels" both in the literal sense of the world and in the vague male loser meaning of the word. A normal person who can get an IRL girlfriend will never be interested in any of this. And I think politics has nothing to do with it. Whole hobby started with corporations realizing that there is a huge segment of men with disposable income who get no sex and are probably already into anime girls. This is why it should die. It devolving into political echo chamber is just another reason and I honestly don't care about it that much.
>>103036999So do you think the government should provide free girlfriends or something?
>>103037180It should make exploiting people who can't get a girlfriend illegal.
>>103037216What mode of paying for personal attention do you find to be acceptable?
>>103035295>Not every single industry preys on your loneliness.Neither does vtubering?
You're just protecting/having a very narrow farming of the industry
The fault lies with the anon who choose to watch Loner Predators instead of Funny Streamers
Didn't that guy abuse his wife and then get kicked off his show
>>103037253Either none or all. Can't have prostitution being illegal but streamer GFE is legal. Also it is not personal attention - huge part why this shit is so exploitative in my opinion.
>>103037282You can't see it clearly because you are part of the religion.
>>103037371Not all loner predators are funny streamers but all funny streamers are loner predators.
>>103037423>Also it is not personal attentionSo you don't include small indies who hang out in VC and DM their viewers.
>>103035051 (OP)>If majority of people who watch vtubers, suddenly realized that the whole industry (including indies) is out to get their moneyYou can count the amount of people who DON'T know this on one hand.
truth be told ive never donated or subbed in my 5+ years of watching vtubers and probably never will but as gay and retarded as it sounds if i could go back id shitpost all the same
Assuming we're not talking about small indies and we're talking about lonely guys who are parasocial and give lots of money to streamers, I would just say that they're simps and ineffective. It's disgustingly feminine to take all of the responsibility off the males in this situation.
>>103037690We can only hope that a lot of people close to you get scammed. We can't take all of the responsibility off of the people close to you when they get scammed. They should have known better.
>>103037423>You can't see it clearly because you are part of the religion. No I can see it clearly because I actually interact with the medium enough to tell you the vast majority of vtubers are just rank and file public-entertainers, and actively push back against their views becoming too parasocial with them
You just come off a preachy newfag who saw a GFE tuber (which themselves are a minatory) and want to pretend every vtuber is just trying to be some loser's surrogate girlfriend, which is simply not the case
Like, Korone Inugami is "preying upon loneness" as much as Bill Burr, which is to say; not all
>>103037964>actively push back against their views becoming too parasocial with themplausible deniability. they say that to the camera while praying they get a retarded simp that will shower them with money. also they know saying this shit does absolutely nothing to chase away desperate simps.
>>103038103>plausible deniability.More projection
> that will shower them with money. No shit? Most public entertainers want their audience to give them money, do you think a musician at a concert does that shit for free?
>>103038103what about this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J0vvEWhvXoU
the gfe asmr plays a huge role in hooking guys. it's a curated intimate experience. lots of affectionate language like i love you, kisses, cuddles, etc. if she happens to do bodycams behind members only streams it bridges the gap between their model and the real girl who has been saying those sweet lovey dovey things to you, makes the fantasy feel more real. it's all designed to simulate personal, romantic, or caregiving connection.
they aren't naive but they participate in a predatory system that rewards them. it's a gamified system to encourage spending. public donation leaderboards that rank generosity and affection, creating competition. they can be disabled in streamlabs/elements but usually kept up. guys feel pressured to match large donos from other regulars to prove their own level of value and affection, emotions that override rational financial decisions. one guy gifts 50 subs, suddenly every regular is doing it too, etc.
some girls have a curated vulnerability/wounded bird narrative. they share, or overshare personal details about their struggles, their illness, loneliness, etc. it creates a caretaker mentality in the viewer. they want to protect and have a harder time leaving, they feel guilty.
that single moment of direct attention like reading your comment, saying your name, blowing you a kiss after a sub or dono gives a big dopamine hit. makes the one way relationship feel two way for a second and you end up chasing that forever. the moment where she sees you becomes addicting. they get compelled to engage more, donate, be consistently present in her streams, reply to those goodnight tweets instantly so she will see and like it.
sure, an adult male should be responsible for his own money and feelings, but who watches them? lonely vulnerable guys. it's like putting a sign outside of casino that says to be financially responsible, but the sign doesn't negate the design to exploit those kinds of guys. dopamine from attention, guilty from stepping back from her content. they are chasing validation and connection and her momentary gaze.
i'm speaking from personal experience and observation, so of course i'm projecting.
>>103035051 (OP)Not gonna happen, the average Vtuber fan (myself included) are so starved for human interaction we rather spend tons of money being acknowledged by an anime woman than to face reality
>>103038613>some girls have a curated vulnerability/wounded bird narrative. they share, or overshare personal details about their struggles, their illness, loneliness, etc. it creates a caretaker mentality in the viewer. they want to protect and have a harder time leaving, they feel guilty.HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
>>103035185all vtubers... are queens!
>>103036966nah i like holostars as a dude, what am i? gay? easily entertained?
>>103035051 (OP)I've been watching vtubers for five years and I still don't understand why someone would pay for anything but membership and maybe some merch. The streams are free to watch for everyone. Is that really not enough?
>>103035185>>103035217case in point that this board is full of seething roasties
>>103035051 (OP)Because that works with gacha, isn't it?
>>103035051 (OP)You say that as if you don't realize that is just the content creator grift all the way down. You even post a classic example of a manipulative grifter getting rich off your misery, who has an interest in keeping you miserable and hooked on his content at the cost of your well being.
