Gift Subs can be botted and abused.
Pretty common to have staff/close supporters/family drop subs to start a sub drop culture or event and have whales and/or regular viewers join in from pressure.

The most important stat, recurring subs however is not public, and people in their right mind will never reveal how low those numbers are.
