Hololive though is having a huge wave of graduations and now there is more doomposting on the JP side. Cover was considered the golden ticket for vtubers so it's a bad sign that an increasing number of talents are leaving to be indie vtubers. Sana could be considered an unusual exception because she really didn't like her model design but now there is a huge wave of talents leaving with indications there will be more.

Cover's shilling, corporate collaborations, and general forcing talents to spam about merch and goods has skyrocketed over the last 2 years. Yagoo was able to get Holostars EN a concert when Hololive recently had 7 graduations and many of their own projects are constantly delayed. I don't think Yagoo is maliciously evil like Riku and Hololive doesn't have numerous scandals like Nijisanji but management is so detached from the girls. 2025 has shown that if their is a contract dispute on the Hololive side that it usually ends with a graduation.

They are still #1 by far. Their viewership and watch hours still increase YoY with the exception of last month due to concert preparations (yes, even if you remove Biboo and Mori from the data of both years due to rampant botting). They just got their biggest concert with 12K tickets sold out within minutes and most of their world tour concerts are either sold out or almost sold out even on way bigger venues compared to last year.

Again, it doesn't matter as long as group still has enough members (and gets new ones) to remain functional and the departed members left on good terms. Being a Hololive member is hard work and you can't force every girls to keep grinding forever. The more time passed - the older and richer the girls become, the more likely that some of them will graduate.
The same reason why, despite being paid extremely well, you still find employee from the very top corpo (non-VTubing corpo, I meant) leaving their comfy 7 figures job to chill around as freelancers or to join way smaller firms.
