That isn’t to say they aren’t entertaining as well for other reasons but they’re not just another streamer I could check out. The relationship was different from the start

They're fucking annoying obviously, but they also tend to whale on you more on average, so many new vtubers don't discourage them. As they grow their income is less dependent on keeping individual viewers happy, while they're also gradually getting annoyed with unironic obsession unicucks tend to exhibit. It's not that hard to understand. Parasocialism is an economic force vtubers can exploit at the start of their journey. The cost is keeping up the lie of pretending to like them, and eventually going through the 'break up' phase where they accuse you of betraying them.

Not friends with vtubers but with some streamers/egirls who have a bit of a following. They make fun of their viewers especially the ones who donate a lot of stuff via throne and donos. I have no doubt vtubers do the same behind the scenes.

This is why I stopped caring about vtubers. They have their little dumb dramas and short moments of tricking you into thinking your both on the same track of thought and maybe investing your time or even money into them is somehow going to pay off, but in the long run is there really anything to it? Fuck no. Might as well focus on more important things that actually go somewhere, not the fake reality of the average vtuber.

There ARE VTubers who have a near pathological need for attention from strangers and turn parasocial with their own viewers, but those are obviously very unstable, unpredictable menheras.

It depends on how you behave towards them as with all relationships.
Most streamers are parasocial towards their fans to some degree.
If you try to groom them or say weird shit to them though they are probably going to hate you.
If you behave like a normal person they won't hate you unless they are some kind of psychopath.

This is a broad statement about their appreciation that they have people willing to tune in and give them money. The amount doesn't matter because at different levels it can mean different things. Sometimes it's a livable wage, sometimes it's enough for side projects, sometimes it's Holo level wealth building and future proofing.

This is a general statement towards their fans as a whole, as (you) are just one of many who are willing to give and they mean (you) in the broad terms of their fans in general, and are again just showing appreciation that you're willing to show up and support them financially.

They're not. The majority of vTubers likely hate their fans. Women in general despise so-called "incels" and their most enthusiastic fans are universally seen as such.

The smart ones keep their hate/disdain hidden, and the smartest ones basically treat their most devoted fans as "good customers." But most women can't manage either one and usually end up causing drama when they can't conceal their disdain.

The best way to handle these e-whores is to keep them at eyes' distance. Support their art if you still must but don't take the feelings that they give you or you give them seriously.
