It's always going to be a mix of support and selfishness and mental illness of some flavor. No truly healthy sane man would give thousands of dollars a month to a stranger wearing an anime avatar, no matter what their motivations are. When I like someone enough to oshi them, giving them enough money to impact their life in ways like no longer feeling bad about buying nice food and giving them a sense of security feels really nice. It satisfies a primal urge to provide that I otherwise would not be able to express because I'm a bald loser virgin who will never ever not ever have a family. I could never tell her the other reason I donate, which is because I don't believe I'm allowed to participate in the community or be tolerated without overwhelming financial support, and without being able to feel like I'm a part of a community I stop feeling human and spiral.
That would break one of the rules, which is
>don't talk about your mental illness
>don't make her feel guilty
Some of the toher rules I've picked up from discussions in Yuy's threads and Lumi's threads is
>don't use TTS ever
>donate no more than once per stream
>try to time your donation so it doesn't interrupt anything, especially if that thing is her reading someone else's comment or donation
>when chatting normally, don't react to every single thing and leave room for other chatters to get read
>if she starts to focus too much on you or her reactions become disproportionate, back off from chatting and lurk
>never ever make jokes that could be interpreted as having any form of sexual innuendo
