What exactly is Bae missing to rise to the top of the vtuber space? On paper she should be one of the strongest chuubas out there with all of her insane talents but it hasn't really worked out that way for her for reasons I can't understand

honestly she just really botched the first impression which is notoriously hard to recover from. you can look at her genmates like kronii who have been through a shitload of drama but still continue to be titans in the company because they had such a strong debut

what do you mean by this? if youre saying amongst ALL vtubers overall then pretty much all of HoloEN are in the top 1% already (theres like 11k vtubers in total). If you just mean in Holo then unironically she just has to become japanese

Well considering vtubers tend to peak with each redebut and have to grind to kepe it, and bae debuted in hololive 4 years ago with limited experience as a mandatory zoomer dei hire, I would say she kind of already topped out and has no where to go since her skills clearly do not carry her. But I guess if she ever left hololive, moved to america to munch mumei's rug and formed their own indie avengers duo they might be a new thing.

Anon, she's one of the most beloved chuubas in English vtubing. She has over 1M subs already, and her following is big on both sides of the Pacific. I think she's already at the top. The difference between her and most of the other chuubas is most of her fans follow her for music and her idol performances rather than her streams. I know that's the case for me at least.

She's all over the place and has no niche, no identity, she offers absolutely nothing unique and even her "chaos" gimmick is done better by other people of the same company (Gigi), she's by all intents and purposes a boring normalfag.

Her skill set is bog-standard idol stuff. Good singer, good dancer, speaks Japanese, but that's a large chunk of what HoloJP already do.
She also doesn't produce that many clippable moments to go viral when compared to some of the other EN girls. She doesn't have immediately distinguishable quirks or personality traits to make her stand out as a character.
I do think she's been very successful in what she does, but her character branding is lacking and it limits her absolute maximum potential

She's boring as hell. Her most endearing trait is that she can get invested heavily in the story of the game she plays, but the occasional sobbing gets boring after a while. Otherwise she has nothing nice to share usually and she defaults to the 'narrate-what's-happening-on-screen' mode way too quickly. Her collabs are also mainly just her reacting with noises to someone acting quirky. She has the skills for idol work, but lacks the soul behind it, lacks an image, and even her choreos are same-ish (shake your body and do a ground segment in the middle). If she wants to improve, she needs to think up something that actually means something for the audience.

Her timezone is a big debuff.
Most of the EN audience is active during east coast primetime but she can only really stream after they've gone to bed.
All of the holos with weird timezones underperform because the larger audience they want to reach just isn't home, available or awake when they can stream. It also affects the west coast crashouts like Kronii that just can't get up early enough to hit primetime.

If you can't stream peak EN hours then you need to cultivate a non-EN viewership, which is exceedingly difficult for an EN-branded talent. I think only IRyS and Mori have succeeded there, and they have their music production to help that.
