Since if they told fans they have a boyfriend or husband it would cause a drop in merch sales. Cover isn't super misogynistic but they are greedy so they aren't going to let talents do anything that hurts revenue. Same reason that management will occasionally force talents to apologize to viewers when they go too far with negative statements because they do represent the Hololive brand name.

as much as I want to fault holo for their rules, the rules exist due to them fucking up badly multiple times, like with the taiwan nonsense and the holocaust that nearly killed some of their chuubas' channels.
It's more incompetence that makes things miserable, like taking forever for perms or just not ever getting back to people on important things like equipment repairs or MV stuff.
The people who left have mostly just been frustrated and burnt out rather than miserable due to company rules (as compared to say, Nijisanji or many microcorpos)
