With the dramatic expansion of indies in 2023 and later along with small corpos, I simply didn't feel the need to watch homolive. It's a product that was dominant in the west not because of quality or hiring girls who actually liked japanese shit, but because they were the only game in town. Nijien was basically the same.

Hololive's game just isn't aas good and it's a shame I don't enjoy some indies/small corpo tubers who got into holol and became big. I guess it would be cool if some of their small corpo friends got in though, but a lot of the culture is different with the 5000 people watching one chick and some dweeb is sending red superchats because otherwise the chat moves too fast to be read.

I'll admit most of the EN that remains is mediocre entertainment wise, but Biboo is an exception, she's quite good at making a connection with the audience, playing into her character, and creating connections with the true queens of vtubing, Hololive JP 1st and 2nd army.
Ina unfortunately just streams too rarely and is honestly quite boring playing games (her fans would put it nicely and say chill or relaxed, but her model carries her)

Fuwamoco just don't have very good game choice, and maybe its just me, but I can only consume their character in short doses. They have their moments, but they aren't consistently entertaining like biboo is because they don't bring their audience into the picture like biboo does, keeping up with chat throughout the gameplay to riff off of their chatter.
But HoloJP, particularly those that make up 1st and 2nd army, are just cuts above any other vtuber, with 1st army just being the cream of the crop, entertaining enough that even EOP could see it. if you know Japanese though, its even better.

The Tempus era were the darkest times for EN: Kronii, Ame and Mori received 10x more hate than Nimi after the LLD, it was unbeliavable, there was a lot of down time too, with Gura absent more often than not. And there was a palpable risk that Hololive was going to be Co-Ed like Nijisanji. I know Shiori and ERB are annoying, but are people really scared of Jurard? Come on. Can you really say with a straight face that Holo EN was better in 2022/2023 than in 2025?
Advent and early Justice were not bad, but it was clear that there was a feud between Kronii and Fauna, and this era was also besmirched by the graduation wave.

It has definitely caused me to skip most events, because at a certain point management was forcing the unlikeable members into every collab to "boost" them and it ruined all of that for me. But it helped me learn to stick to my oshi and watch collabs with her friends but sometimes skip the ones where she has to interact with all the filth or where she chooses to be too much of a saviorfag. I personally think it really just is simple as being a hololive member just isn't for everyone. Even though nearly every single vtuber dreams about joining, the actual reality of the situation is that it is still a job. A job that some women enjoy and some end up disliking. Some women thrive in the polished japanese corpo environment (Kiara, Mori, Biboo, IRyS, FWMC) and some don't (Gura, Mumei, Ame). My opinion is that Cover should target 2 view indies who are already grinders consistently streaming 4+ times a week. If they are willing to work hard for their tiny indy audience it's likely that they will work even harder when thousands are watching every stream. For example, Gura, as talented as she is, was already famously flaky and would disappear without explanation for months at a time as an indy. No one can really be surprised that joining hololive didn't change her habits.
