I don't know this person and if you want to treat yourself and live comfortably then that's cool, but if she has a goal that she's working towards then I don't think it's a bad advice to cut on useless spending. Achieving your goal will give you more satisfaction than food, booze, prostitutes etc, if you have nothing you want to do in life and you don't see any achievable goals (house prices are too high) then increasing your spending on comfort is reasonable.

Starbucks is an every now and then purchase. The little purchases like 6 dollars a day does add up when something like 8 or 16 dollars can last you a week or more of actual coffee. Especially if you were to add external fees like god forbid Doordash or even gas to physically get one.
